probably a good idea variel. let's try it out and see how it goes. No more than 15 words spoken per person per round.
Variel Nightstorm

Wow, get done mowing the yard and there are 25 posts! Something happened, catching up now.
| Seijiro |
thanks... pure luck! lol... well, maybe a little skill, aided by some luck with the dicebot
Variel Nightstorm
|
That was close again both Jiro and Variel at 2 and 1 hp respectively. Although if Immoratl would have rolled the attacks from her hiness first I think he would have missed with them all leaving Variel still good. ;p
Variel Nightstorm
|
ohhh +1 keen spear who wants to use that underwater?
| Rain Taneththir |
Rain is able to use it but she already has a +1 reach weapon on her so she won't put up her hand at this time. ;)
Variel, why don't you use it in combat? You're able to wield it and since you're usually in the thick of it ...
| Seijiro |
Imm... I'm a little confused on how to handle this - You said the wound gave Seijiro -1 con, which lowers his hp by 6 (one per level)... Adular's healing would put him at 12 of 53 before the con loss... Does the healing then put him at 6 of 47 or 12 of 47?
I currently have him a 12 of 47, but if you rule otherwise, I'll change it.
| Rain Taneththir |
Variel, don't forget to add the +1 hit & damage from Freebooter's Bane on the Sahuagin you're currently attacking as Rain singled that out on her turn. Your attack hit by the looks of it and dropped it -- just thought I'd remind you of the bonus all the same.
Variel Nightstorm
|
Thanks, will adjust it now.
Done. Also it looks like Adular can channel were he is and get everyone in the burst. I am thinking we should use the wand though to heal the rest of the way and save the channels for later if we need them for ranged mass healing.
Variel Nightstorm
|
you do realize your average die roll for the d20's was 17.2!
Variel Nightstorm
|
Alos just noticed the edit that Rain posted above about asking if I would use the spear.
In short yes I would love to but I want to make sure that everyone who wants a magical weapon has one while we are underwater. I can make any weapon magical, Rain has the pike, Jiro has Brine's Sting, Horatio has the agile rapier. I guess really it comes down to Adular or Dhaavan if they want the spear. If not I will gladly use it.
Variel Nightstorm
|
Just assume it is over with the damage dealt so we don't have to worry about it tomorrow. Variel is down 37 hp currently.
Next time in port I think we buy another 2 cure lt wounds wands and an infernal healing wand. You guys ok with that?
| Seijiro |
and Seijiro is down either 35 or 41, depending on Imm's response to my questions... go with 35 for now tho.
| Seijiro |
sounds like a good idea... Seijiro will be happy to carry one of the clw wands, as it is on the bard spell list so he can use one.
| Horatio Flynn |
Hey guys - I have to leave now for a training seminar, and I won't be back until later tonight.
Meanwhile, for marching order -
I know we've been doing a lot of Single File, but is it possible to try (at least in certain areas) a "Two-by-Two" order?
That way if someone advances ahead they won't necessarily get jumped with no cover (which could be important considering the generally slow movement speed in water).
In any case, as Horatio has ranged weapons he'll be in the rear of the party, behind the heavy melee types. Not sure if that makes him last formally, but I'll leave that part up to you guys as I'll be gone.
Also GM: how many rounds do we have to move on? This pertains to things like how long our spell effects have lasted.
Also, given the depth that we travel, are we in danger of the "Non-Lethal" damage for doing deep under the water via this: Very deep water is not only generally pitch black, posing a navigational hazard, but worse, deals water pressure damage of 1d6 points per minute for every 100 feet the character is below the surface. A successful Fortitude save (DC 15, +1 for each previous check) means the diver takes no damage in that minute. Very cold water deals 1d6 points of nonlethal damage from hypothermia per minute of exposure.
| DM Immortal |
Your spell effects that are round per level are done. Minutes per level will be up depending on caster level. As for depth you aren't at 100 feet yet. I'll let you know when that applies.
Good news though! This campaign only goes to level 13 so that's where it would normally end...however ive come up with a plotline that well take you up to 18 or 20 and potentially let you use the mythic rules. Not going to tell you what the plot is but it ties in heavily to the currently occurring plot. Should be fun
Variel Nightstorm
|
Good to know that about being 13th level. Also sounds good to possibly extend this to higher levels!
| Rain Taneththir |
Thanks for letting us know about extending the plot/campaign, Imm. Looking forward to finding out what you have in store for us in the later levels.
| Rain Taneththir |
A courtesy heads-up:
Posting tomorrow will be slow on my end as I will be out of the house and in court.
I have been summoned to appear for jury duty selection. If I am chosen tomorrow, the estimated length of the trial is 12 weeks. That means, if chosen, my days will be spent in court for that length of time. I will only be able to post in my late evenings. Sorry for this, but jury summons are compulsory here and whatever reasons I had to be excused from it no longer apply and so I must make an appearance or else incur a huge fine etc.
I'll let you know if I am chosen to be on the jury, tomorrow afternoon my time.

Interesting, indeed!

Wow good luck rain with the jury duty. It's compulsory here too. 12 weeks is a crazy long trial. Hope it goes well for you.

Yikes, that sucks! Well, maybe they won't choose you in the process. Sometimes you can get lucky during the final stages of the selection process.
Either way it turns out - good luck!

Good luck Rain. I myself am on jury duty as well right now. I haven't been selected yet but have another month and a half of possible selections ahead of me.
Just a heads up I am claiming the +1 keen spear for the time being as no one else has said anything. Hopefully it allows Variel to get some decent attacks off but it does prevent him from using spellcombat for the time being.
| Horatio Flynn |
Hmm, well it looks like it's going to be a split party adventure.
As we're not worrying about Marching Order at this point, or distances, etcetera, I'm really confused.
However, if there's a separate plot/story for Variel and Rain, that's cool.
For now I'm just going to explore, then.
| Rain Taneththir |
Thanks, Flynn.
Thanks, Variel, and good luck to you. :)
Flynn, I don't believe it is a split party adventure. Immortal gave us this because while the rest of you were posting, Variel and I couldn't (and everyone else rolled so well and made the discoveries), so this gives the Elves a chance for some rp and discovering. That's all.
| Horatio Flynn |

night all. just have Variel move as far as possible on his turn. I believe his touch of the sea is down so 15 ft a round.

Flynn, on is most recent turn, Dhaavan summoned three new dolphins.
He will be using SM 2 and 1d3 ⇒ 3 Dolphins will appear around him. One adjacent to him which he will "ride" (be dragged along or pushed by, cause swimming is for squares! [ ]
or you know, people with Str scores.

I forgot about those dolphins!
But I think that they wouldn't be able to appear until a round after he summoned them, so I don't know where they'd be or appear. Also, if they were there, theoretically Jiro could grab one, too, but I don't know what's going to happen now.
| Horatio Flynn |
Well guys, I'll talk to you later.
Bad luck about how things went down for me; anyhow, I hope you all have a good night.
| Rain Taneththir |
Flynn, we're all there now: Adular with his zesty magical vest and the rest of us thanks to the summoned dolphins. You aren't alone against the shark.
Night. Tomorrow is a new day!
| Horatio Flynn |
Thanks, guys. I appreciate it.
Have a great day!
EDIT: Please be really careful. It occurs to me that this shark is likely shielded with magical buffs.
Remember; it is a Large Size creature, and the GM ruled that it's first Combat Action against me was to "Charge" (which lowers it's AC by -2). That puts its base Touch AC at least 16. That said, I'm guessing it must have some type of magical Shield Spell or something else like that.
Anyhow, a shark with magic on it is likely aided by something more challenging than it just being a random Wandering Monster. That being the case, please be careful fighting it and thanks again for your help.

Thanks for updating that Adular.
| Seijiro |
I'm going to a class tonight - keep me up with the group if you move in on the bad guy and I will post catch up when I get home...
| DM Immortal |
Sorry for delay. Having some weird pains but getting better. Have post up in a lil bit.
| DM Immortal |
Comp not working and going to bed. Can someone shrink the big image to the size of a large creature I.e. 2x2 and place directly above the two other sahuagib. Thanks!!
| Rain Taneththir |
Thanks for your patience, folks. :)
So after 4 hours of waiting in the juror assembly hall to be called to a jury panel, I am told all current panels are now filled and I am not required for another year. Thanks, I'll take that. Civic duty fulfilled!
