Hurling Barbarian, yes no?

Scarab Sages

Is it worth it?

One day, my group will be starting an ARG based game, no featured races (elf, dorf, hume, etc).

Was thinking of the Orc.

I like the ferocity and the idea of being the guy with no armor, feral/angry all the time, barely controlled, unafraid of going into negative HP.

I also like the idea of playing something that isn't chosen hardly at all, if ever.

I am not looking for the most optimized archetype/race combo, and I realize that the unbreakable/invulnerable archetypes work really well with the whole concept, but IMHO its overdone. I have NEVER seen a hurling barbarian. EVER.

So, looking at that, or the Brutal Pugilist? Maybe even mix in some Savage Barbarian with the Hurler, since they don't overlap on repalced abilities....

Any advice here??

Scarab Sages

If I am reading the SRD right, I can combine Savage/Wild/Hurler at the same time, yes?

Looks like it i'm not sure i'd want a ranged wild rager in my part though as it sounds like a great way to get a throwing axe in the back. :P

Scarab Sages

Well, but if the DC of the will save (which I know they suck at) is 10 + Barb Level + CHA modifier, if you dump the bejeezus out of the CHA (Orcs already at -2 to CHA) then you can end up with a moderately easy DC...amirite?

Dump to 7, -2 means a 5 total (perfect for Savage archetype) and then your save DC is 10+Barb Level + -3, essentially 7+Barb level.

Raise the WIS to even a 10 and its a pretty solid hit, esp if you take Iron Will or something else to raise WIS.

But still, knowing how I roll dice, I'll be confused half the time and smacking my friends around, or throwing things at them.

But still, carrying around a bag of rocks has its draw.

I think a thread here covered the dc and it is suposed to be + 1/2 barbarian level.
