International Shipping plus unrelated Regular Charge Query

Customer Service

Hi Paizo

Not sure where this should go, so please move it to wherever it belongs.

I was wondering if there's any chance you might be able to offer the ability to have international subscriptions sent by courier? It seems the USPS priority shipping tends to averyage 7-14 days. And I figured there must be faster options available, if one was prepared to pay for them. Admittedly, I'm basing this on "your order has shipped" dates, which I understand might not actually be the day they leave your warehouse, so perhaps the transit time I'm seeing is slightly overstated.

I know most people are keen to keep costs down so it probably wont be a popular option, but I figured it cant hurt to ask. Maybe it's easy for you to add an additional shipping option. If there's an easy way to provide 'faster but more expensive' international shipping, I'd definitely be interested (it might also mean that international customers could track their shipments).

Cheers
Steve

PS - It's totally unrelated, but I'd also be interested in setting up regular charges for store credit to 'save up' for those months with signficant shipments. At the moment I'm doing that manually, but it would make my life easier if I could set up a weekly/fortnightly purchase on my credit card until cancelled. Is that possible at all?

Unfortunately, the only answer I have for both of these suggestions is the completely non-committal, and probably unsatisfactory: We'll take your suggestions under advisement and take a look!

But I can assure you that I will make sure this passes before the eyeballs of those who can explore these possibilities.

Thanks,
cos

No worries, cos.
I was expecting a "no", to be frank, so a maybe isn't unsatisfactory at all. :)

ooh... "maybe" is far too committal of an answer. Let's go with "I see that you've written things here".

Steve,

The next step up from USPS International Priority is a BIG one—it costs you a lot, and gains you little, which is the reason we don't offer it.

Last time we looked, the best rates were coming from UPS International. I just checked UPS to see what they'd charge us to ship a Core Rulebook to you; the answer is $161.50 USD for 5-day (guaranteed) shipping, and $154.56 for 9-day (not guaranteed) shipping. We might get a slight discount on that as a corporate customer, but we'd also have to add in the costs for packaging and handling, so I have no doubt the actual charge we'd have to pass on to you would be slightly higher.

Hmm. That is a little hard to justify (no matter how much I stress when the "big shipments" take those few extra days). Thanks for looking into it anyhow. I guess I'll just have to take up meditation or something..

Hi Vic (or whoever's eyeballs are appropriate)

Is there any way of setting up the other service I mentioned in my PS? Namely setting up a fortnightly or weekly charge on my credit card to go straight to store credit?

As I mentioned - I'm doing it myself manually, so it's hardly urgent. Nonetheless, if it were an easy thing for me to set-and-forget, I'd appreciate the convenience.

Cheers
Steve

New code that involves money is always a challenge, because it complicates checkout and needs lots of extra testing. Basically, we'd need to see a lot of demand for it to be sure it's worth the effort.

Ah well. I won't hold my breath. Thanks.
