Magic tattoos and eshew feat

Rules Questions

Sovereign Court

Hello all,
Does the feat "eshew materials" cover the 500gp cost of special ink per doodle?
Thanks

Nah, eschew materials only lets you ignore components costing less than 1 gp.

Eschew materials has a limit on the materials it allows you to eschew, so, no, it does not.

To be honest Eschew Materials does very, very little for you, comparably to Spell Mastery in efficiency (i.e. terrible)

Sovereign Court

Thank you, that solves that one.

Aren't magic tattoos considered magic items (and are thus inappropriate for Eschew Materials which only works with spells)?

Sovereign Court

There is a 2nd level Bard spell called Tattoo Potion that I was asking about that has special ink that costs 500gp a pop. Though it may also be a magic item in other points in the game.

Then how come you didn't say "tattoo potion" in the first place?

Maybe False Focus is what you are looking for.
