Hey all,
Hoping someone can help me with building a great Evangelist build with good summoning capabilities.
Some requirements -
1) Character is a Pacifist, he will not be using any weapons and most of his spells will be used at defusing fights and aiding allies.
2) Undecided on Deity, suggestions for a pacifist/aiding deity would be nice.
3) Str is not needed as I'm not swinging/shooting any weapons. Sanctuary will be one of my defensive go-to options along with other useful defensive spells. My damage output will be in buffing allies and summoning monsters.
Class – Evangelist ( Cleric archetype)
Race - Human
Traits -
* ________
* Mediator
Deity –
* ________
Domain -
* ________
Stats -
Str: 7
Dex: 14
Con: 14
Int: 12
Wis: 16 + 2 racial = 18
Cha: 12
Level Progression -
1) Evangelist 1: Bab +0, Lingering Performance (lvl 1), Peacemaker (human), +1hp
2) Evangelist 2: Bab +1, +1hp
3) Evangelist 3: Bab +2, Spell Focus: Conjuration (lvl 3), +1hp
4) Evangelist 4: Bab +3, +1 Wis, +1hp
5) Evangelist 5: Bab +3, Metamagic: Heighten Spell (5), +1hp
6) Evangelist 6: Bab +4, +1hp
7) Evangelist 7: Bab +5, Augment Summons (lvl 7), +1hp
8) Evangelist 8: Bab +6/+1, +1 Wis, +1hp
9) Evangelist 9: Bab +7/+2, Superior Summoning (lvl 9), +1hp
10) Evangelist 10: Bab +7/+2, +1hp
11) Evangelist 11: Bab +8/+3, Discordant Voice (lvl 11), +1hp
Should I go the Superior Summoning route or go for Summon Good Monster and Sacred Summons? I don't want to lose Peacemaker and I'm required to be of Good alignment for that feat so Summon Good Monster is an option. Advice/Suggestions plz?

I believe that the answer you are seeking depends on one thing...
How many actions do you want to take and what are your channeling abilities like?
If your goin to be channeling as a move action and maintaining other stuff as swift then I'm going to have to go with sacred summons because you have more stuff done in a shorter time. if you are not wanting to use channeling or other good stuff but are seeking to "summon army then boost army" then go with superior summons as your evangelist performances get more for their performances.
DEITY/DOMAIN: I got to advocate the protection/defense domain for your character as its more buffing and fairly close to pacifism. Based on that and your wanting to be good alignment I'd say go with Shelyn. Goddess of love, beauty, art all are nice to me. Add to that, your already going to have at least a minor in perform so that too fits with what is expected of her clergymen at service in her temples (check the wiki for details). Finally, using a reach weapon like the glaive that she grants you is a safe bet when you don't need to use ur resources.
Comments: if you go with my idea or something close to it... At level 8 you will have 2 boosters from domain, variant channel boosts to AC to party while minor beals,bardic performances, regular spells, and maybe more all at your command to help the party.
If I remember correctly, that is deflection, competence, and channel bonuses being handed out plus whatever the spells give. Just tell your group so they buy rings of protection till they overcome your domains bonus AND they cash to spare. Even with that overlap you still saved yourself some cash with your scaling increases to saves.
Hope something in there helps or inspires someone to something better. Night all.

Forgot to mention this is for PFS. Would taking a deity with Animal domain for an animal companion and grabbing the feat Boon Companion be a better choice?
PFS is a strange beast. It will take 9 adventures to get your companion and 12 to get him up to fighting condition. Compared to other second domain powers that is not bad but your first domain power is meh at best. An animal companion is frequently worthwhile but I think it's fairly plausible that a random PFS table would prefer not to have animal companions because of some players perceptions that it slows things down. So if you want the animal be sure to have your moves planned ahead of time and executed as fast as possible to keep things fair and ammicable.

Heroism sub-domain is a huge recommendation - at 8th level you get a swift action 'mass herosim' to compliment a move action 'inspire courage' with a standard action to summon still available.
I'd also highly recommend that you consider working towards using Planeshift as a perfected spell. The ability to banish foes with a touch fits thematically with a summoning cleric and can be incredibly effective. We had a build like that in one of our games which really impressed.
Find room for Divine Interference and save it for negating those pesky critical hits when they occur.
Dwarves are far and away the best race in my opnion.

For an evangelist I'd agree with this except for a dwarf. The -2 to charisma is bad, not crippling, but ugly.
