This wave is for "Dark Sasha" and "Jake in the Grass." If you are still looking for work, welcome to the crew.
DS, you are the doctor: "Clemencia Welford" She is a "Doctor without Borders" personality. She has a history of stirring up trouble on Border and Rim worlds. She dismisses the Locals superstitions in favor of treating people. Running from pitchfork and torch mobs is almost her signature. But at least they are healthy mobs, right?
JitG you are the Mechanic: "Santana Murtaugh" Classic ships engineer type. But you have one hiccup. You're alcoholic father pays for a cabin on this ship too. The Captain looks to you when Dad acts up. You dread the Captain's angry bellow of "Murtaugh!" It means you broke the ship or Dad threw up in the Captains quarters...Again.

Sorry Kaldaka, if I had any open chairs, you both would be more than welcome. If there are any cancellations I will post to this thread. You will get first pick

I'm good to play how ever long it takes Saturday night. :-D Perhaps those of us who have some down time before the game can grab some dinner together?
Ok. I can go late Saturday. I don't have anything planned for Sunday.
I'm sure there'll be a source for coffee, right? And I'd totally be down for dinner together beforehand for them as ain't in the banquet.

I'm bringing a 21 year Jamaican rum (very dry ... reminiscent of whiskey in the taste profile), a 23 year Guatemalan blended rum (have not tried it yet), an 18 year Nicaraguan rum (the 12 year from this distillery is quite excellent), and a 12 year Barbados rum (have not tried it) with me to Seattle ... one of these will be joining us at the table as well. ;)

We played a little Firefly today. Got to be a Blue Sun agent following up on the "incident" on Higgen's Moon. Fun!
An aside: any of you interested in joining me, El-El, and zylphryx for some epic sci-fi gaming on Thursday morning and Sunday night? Link: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2pvr7?Burning-Empires

Alas, I won't be there until about noon on Thursday (assuming the Amtrak arrives on time, it'll put me at the station around 11, then the local train gets near the hotel around noon.)
I plan to run a Metamorphosis Alpha game shortly thereafter.
Have fun!

Affirmative. I like the latter start time.

If somehow there opens a spot for a wandering preacher to join this voyage, then I'd be right glad to ship out with you. I'm not so much looking for a place to go, moreso I'm looking for a journey in getting there.
I see Kaldaka has dibs on possible openings in this game, I'd love to join in as well if the opportunity is there.

Ah, yes, when I said Firefly, I meant Star Trek.
Ummmm.... don't tell anyone I know I said that, though.
Saturday Evening is good for me for Firefly, too.
And, speaking of Firefly, good to have to have you back, Thaddeus! With our supremely competent pilot, and our same doc, I have no doubt this caper'll go 比打蜡海豚顺畅.
I am in Aberdeen now, and have claimed it in the name of the Alliance!

Alliance? What the...
Fun game last night. Well, I what I remember of it was fun. I blame my memory lapses on lolrobots' cinnamon moonshine...

Wow, I'm impressed you actually got up in time to post!
Thanks everyone, especially El-El for another awesome game!
And, yeah, I can understand why Fireball is such a popular offensive spell in certain circles...

And thanks fer comin' t'get us Thad. I was feelin' a might soul torn when those whacked out miners went all belligerent ...

The effect of that strange device which reduced you all to gibbering frothing imbeciles was fascinating, yet terrifying to behold. Hmm if only I could harness such an effect into a hand weapon...

RECAP 1 of 2.
I tried to keep it short, but you people make that impossible...In a good way! A lot more was done by everyone. Please add your exploits or corrections to the thread. Great game everyone! You all make it a blast to GM Firefly!
You picked up an extra an unwelcome passenger at Higgins Moon. A Mr. Smith, Blue Sun security specialist. For some reason, (see: Big Mouth Hindrance) Blue Sun thinks you all need a babysitter. But luckily there was enough Blue Sun trust remaining to hire you for another job.
The Pescaline D was to be picked up at the Space Bazaar and delivered to the New Salem mining colony. Easy Peasy.
At the Space Bazaar you met the slimy little business man Patrick Duxberry and his colorful gang. Through an inebriated Cockney accent, he informed you that the medication was locked away in a shipping container with a possible monster. You discovered that the monster was merely a giant bug. Hilarity ensued.
After rounding up the crew and Mr Smith (who was carrying a mysterious case) you departed The Space Bazaar with the medicine.
Upon arriving at the planet, you contacted their beacon for a flight plan. A minute later somehow... some unfathomable way, a landlock was put on Babe while you were in the atmosphere. This caused the engines to power down and Babe fell like a rock.
Thad and Santana pulled Babe back together just in time to make a hard landing. Captain Bleak was pissed.
After the dust settled, Smith was blamed for this mishap. It was theorized that his mysterious case was the source for the landlock and crash. The crew opened the case without permission or Smith's presence. Turned out to be a cat carrier. Smith's terrified cat [ Mr. Wiggles] escaped in a blur. The crew assumed the cat was a biological carrier for something evil. Possible a bug egg. Thad and Quin stayed on the ship to round up the cat for study. It was to be scanned, poked and prodded. In the end, Mr. Wiggles is declared clean. He is a happy cat and wants to join the crew.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Crew and Smith found the real source for the landlock. Through a godlike engineering roll of 53, Santana tracked the signal to the center of the mine. (Really, the hand held scanner doesn't have that range. But the man rolled a 53, I can't short change it.)
The Mule "Francis" was driven down the expansive mine shaft. They drove by many confused and exhausted miners. The main cave was an expansive hole that could fit a starship. The signal trace was bouncing all over the place. But it was here somewhere for sure. Santana tightened the scan and doing so, he accidentally tripped a hypersonic attack. The effect was a piercing sound that shattered all thoughts and sense of Self. Everyone slumped over and started foaming and bleeding from the eyes, ears and mouth. Smith made a Quickness roll and put his special ear plug filters in. However, even with the filters in place, Smith was getting feedback from the attack and his reactions were slowed. He attempted to turn the Mule around for a hasty retreat. That's when the Miners swarmed the Mule with picks, shovels and laser diggers. Smith went on the offensive, neutralizing as many miners as possible. But it wasn't enough. More were coming.

RECAP 2 of 2.
Please add your exploits or corrections to the thread. Great game everyone! You all make it a blast to GM Firefly!
Back on the ship: Thad and Quin were able to reach the Mule crew using personal communicators but the responses were gibberish. On the last attempt they heard gunfire and profanities in the background.
Thad and Quin jumped to action. They raided Tyrone's weapons locker, err.. bunk and grabbed all the weapons the could carry. Fortunately all the guns were loaded.
Thad, Quin, and Mr. Wiggles hastily piled into the shuttle "Jinwu" and rocketed to the mine.
Jinwu barely fit in the mine shaft. Incredibly difficult rolls were made to not crash and burn. Some miners suffered terminal collateral damage as the shuttle flew through them down the mine shaft.
When Jinwu reached the cave, Quin scanned the area and the hypersonic effect was easy to detect. Upon reaching the Mule, the scene was a bit overwhelming.
The outnumbered Smith was being dragged out of the mule just as Ty and Clem came back on line. They rescued Smith from the horde and started fightin together. But escape using the Mule was impossible. Earlier when Smith was drivin' and shootin under the influence (hypersonic feedback) he crashed Francis into a formidable stalagmite. The Mule could barely stay afloat.
Undaunted, Thad and Quin (hearing protection in place) exited Jinwu's ramp, guns blazin. Quin quickly realized shootin was not his forte (Ty makes it look so easy) and gave up shootin. But not before a dirty look from Thad.
The next initiative, Thad pulled the Black Joker. In game terms this is the worst thing that can happen.
All the Miners in unison turned their attention to Thad and charged. Quin dropped his gun and hightailed up the ramp before Thad could even react. Thad soon followed. Thad jumped into the cockpit. (Quin was already under the co-pilot dashboard tearing apart a communications console.) All you could see was Quin's feet.
Thad maneuvered Jinwu towards the trapped Mule crew and plowed through the miners. That thinned the herd mightily.
Thad swung a shuttle door around to the trapped crew.
Quin finished tinkering with the Comm center and sent out a short range jammer to stop hypersonic attack. With this brief respite, the Mule crew staggered onto Jinwu. But not before they set the mules guidance control for the source of trouble and shoved it off the cliff.
Thad flew Jinwu out of the mine shaft and barely didn't crash. There were many Poker Chips flying into the pot to make this happen. It was close. Upon reaching Babe the crew hastily boarded and were relieved to discover the mule wasn't sacrificed in vain, the landlock was gone.
It took a combined effort of Thad, Quinton and Santana to get the ship airborne again.
The Pescaline D was lobbed out an airlock towards the town and the Babe beat a hasty retreat.
BTW, It is mentioned in the specs of "Babe" that the engines are way overpowered for the design, but this is one of those times that was necessary.
So what is the fallout from this latest adventure? Stay tuned... Things get complicated.
