Grapple Toss

Rules Questions

Is it possible to grapple a foe, and then throw them (like a judo throw)? If so, how is the distance thrown calculated?

Thanks!

There is a feat chain called KI Throw that lets you do that. The second feat Improved Ki Throw that lets you throw them on people.

Ok cool, that helps.

So, I assume then that only those with the feats can technically do that? Or is this more of a cinematic GM story telling feature?

Technically if you are going by the rules than yes only people with the feats can do that. But I do not think any GM would really have much of a issue if you say you wanted your trip to look like you threw the guy, as long as you were not trying to get some kind of mechanical benefit from it.

That's sort of the conclusion I had come to, but was just wondering if I had missed the rules. And no, there was not even a question of dealing damage (the PC wanted to throw a foe into a bookshelf that they had grappled). It was more for cinematic effect rather than actual damage dealing, so I allowed it (as it was good story), but it still left me wondering.

This helped a lot, thanks for the responses!
