Hey!
I know that a Magus uses his weapons crit range for his weapon and spell during spell strike, but how would the crit work exactly?
Say I pulled a x3 Crit Card out. Would I have to choose a separate Crit option for the magic and only class the x3 as the weapon damage, or would I x3 the whole entire attack (meaning the spell via spell strike, the weapon damage and the Str mod)?
I think personally that if you're Spellstriking, you include all of it.
So, a 10d6 shocking grasp with a 1d10 Bastard Sword and 2 Str should jump up to 30d6 + 3d10 + 6, but due to the amount of damage that could deal, I'd just like to make sure I'm doing this right!
Thanks very much. :)

Pretty much as they said.
Even if you are using a x3, x4, or x5 weapon (you CAN get there with Kensai), the Magic effects multiplier is ALWAYS a x2 (so no devastating 40d6 shocking damage with a Scythe, but still a painful 20d6+4dWhatever+STRx4). But yeah, take both affects. If it becomes so darn awesome and deadly, limit to either one because some of the crit stuff are nasty, and as far as I know, considering magic crits are rare, I bet they are deadly.

Okay.
I think I'll have a look at some of the crit cards after the session I play in tomorrow (I GM on Tuesday and play on Thursday), just to see what kind of level spell crits are at. I mean I'm expecting nasty ones, but I think it'll be unlikely a x3 magic multiplier will be present.
In theory I think multiplying the whole lot by three is probably how it was intended because it follows all of the weapon properties you're casting it through, but if it seems too powerful, I'll separate the two. :)
Be interesting when the crits go to 17-20x2. The multiplier is irrelevant as the crit cards only differ between x2 and x3, but it's still pretty fun and that's how we play, so I don't really mind.
Thanks guys! :)

As someone who plays alot of magus, the X2 on crits with spells is devastating in and of itself.
Spellstrike (Su): At 2nd level, whenever a magus casts a spell with a range of “touch” from the magus spell list, he can deliver the spell through any weapon he is wielding as part of a melee attack. Instead of the free melee touch attack normally allowed to deliver the spell, a magus can make one free melee attack with his weapon (at his highest base attack bonus) as part of casting this spell. If successful, this melee attack deals its normal damage as well as the effects of the spell. If the magus makes this attack in concert with spell combat, this melee attack takes all the penalties accrued by spell combat melee attacks. This attack uses the weapon's critical range (20, 19–20, or 18–20 and modified by the keen weapon property or similar effects), but the spell effect only deals ×2 damage on a successful critical hit, while the weapon damage uses its own critical modifier.
They never intended for your spell to do more thank x2 on a crit.
There for, I always go for the 18-20 weapons use keen at level 5 or just get it on the weapon itself.
A 15-20X2 spell is awsome.
