So even though this has been around for a while it just struck me when I was looking through the ARG. Can you take a favored class option if you do not yet have the class ability? For example some races have the option to add 1/4 point to the monks ki pool in lieu of the hit point or skill point. Since monks don't get a ki pool until 4th level, can they even take this option at first through third levels? Similar situations exist for other favored class options like rogue talents (which rogues don't get until second level).
I would say yes because by the time they would have the full Ki point they would have a Ki pool.
If it was +1, +1/2, or +1/3 Ki point I would say no because you would have the Ki point before having a ki pool.
Of course, even if you somehow did complete the favored class fraction before you got the class feature, it wouldn't do anything until you received the class feature.
