We are currently playing the Rise of the Runelords and are poised to face Karzog. I am playing a (God) Wizard Conjurer (Thanks to Treemonk for his guide BTW) and we just hit 15th lvl. I am interested in the True Name Discovery and my GM and I want to ensure we have a balanced use of the feat.
From a Roleplaying perspective I think we would with me finding the True name of an outsider that faced one or more of the Runelords from within either the Library (Fortress of the Stone Giants) or in one of the Runewell books we found (Sins of the Saviors)
We have a couple of questions in our effort to keep the game balanced.
1. What CR should the creature be for a group of 4 at 15th lvl (with 1 @ 14 the lvl follower as well)? 18 HD covers a range of CR from around 13 to CR 17 or so I believe right?)
2. The following text from the True name Discovery is giving us issues with the feat.
It is in your best interest to call this creature only sparingly, and occasionally reward it in some fashion to mollify its wrath. If you repeatedly fail to offer it a reward appropriate to its type and ethos, the creature may begin plotting ways to destroy the bond between you, whether by creating an accident that will destroy your memory of the name, by plaguing you with nuisances or dangers until you vow never to call on it again, or by actively seeking to destroy you through its own devices or those of an underling.
First off, unless you activly try to make it your ally, shouldn't the outsider try escape in some fashion anyway?
Is once a week sparingly? Once a day? How long can the creature be summoned for? Several Rounds, hours, weeks etc?
We are very interested in not only some suggestions on how to keep the True Name feat balanced and specifically keeping in mind we are in the last phase of the Runelords campaign, but also outsider suggestions based on the history of the runelords.
Etcher (my mage) would prefer something nuetral aligned to match his own as he really despises the agendas that accompany the good / evil outsiders. Not that nuetral creatures won't have an agenda!
Thanks in advanced.

2. my opinion is t his is written as it is because it depends on multiple factors:
personality and alignment of both creature and character
especially temperament and patience, how much of it or lack of it do they have
a quick to anger creature of the opposite alignment could maybe get angry even if you call upon it once a month, a kind one with similar goals and alignment may be fine with once a day
