MMORPG bouncing madness.

Video Games

I'm off all summer and I've been craving a different MMORPG. I'm bored to death of WoW (currently 4/8 heroic DS 10man) and I can't bring myself to log in.
I've reactivated SWTOR (Shadowlands server/still Sith) and playing economy Rifts, (Wolfsbane shard/Guardians this time around) free to level 20.

The new Raid news about GW2 kinda burned that bridge for me so I'm not sure I'll even try it now. Nothing else out there interests me.

I don't know what the purpose of posting this is, pretty sure I'm semi-venting until I decide what I'm going to stick to. It's leaning toward Rifts again though. The game still looks great, with killer lore, and the raids look pretty good.

Anyone else playing SW:TOR or Rifts? Anyone gung-ho about the upcoming GW2?

Are you looking for just fantasy type games? DDO is a lot of fun and F2P. If open to other Genres Mechwarrior online is about to launch but its straight PVP.

I'm playing both SWtOR AND Rifts. And am pretty excited for GW2, as well as The Secret World.

There is not enough hours in the day :(

I really like DDO, and Everquest 2 isn't too shabby either.

If you've ever played (or had an interest in playing) old-school Everquest, check out Shards of Dalaya. It's free, too.

Scarab Sages

I am currently playing Everquest. It's free until you start reaching current content / 1000 AA's

City of Heroe's is free and can be entertaining but is difficult to find a group/league. I enjoy it, but then, I bring a group with me (my wife and both daughters play).

Oh yeah. I've clocked eight years in City of Heroes, too. :)

I subscribed to Rifts again after cancelling WoW.
Having fun with the Guardians more than I did with the Defiant when Rift was first released. The story is definately cooler 22 levels in on my Guardian Cleric (I left a 23 Defiant Cleric behind previously).

SW:ToR is ok but the animations and graphics are way under par compared to WoW or Rift. Flashpoints are ok so far, and the Imperial Spy is still my favorite class.

City of Heroes I played when it was first released before WoW but quit before reaching end game levels. I don't think I could go back to it.

Originally I wanted something different than fantasy hence my resubbing to SW:ToR. I find myself drawn to Rift despite it being fantasy.
Mechwarrior is a strict no-buy for me. There hasn't been a decent Mechwarrior since 2 and it's Ghost Bear's Legacy expansion. Not to crazy about a PvP focused MMO about it.

Liberty's Edge

Well, you have picked my favorite two MMOs. I am playing both as well. I play SWToR with a few close friends. I really enjoy the story element plus we pvp in SWToR a lot. In Rift, the hard working devs at Trion keep content pretty fresh. Trion's raids are second to none.

Fair enough. Keep an eye on MW:O though. The developers are starting the game in 3049 and every day will be a day in the game world. Meaning the Clans will be invading in about a years time. I have a sneaking suspicion that AI and team focused PVE will be introduced at that time.

I prefer a single player campaign, maybe some drop-in co-op for the campaign for those that want it.
When I first got into PC gaming there were must buy staples in my gaming diet. Franchises like Mechwarrior, Tomb Raider, Quake, etc.
Tomb Raider lost me after the first third of TR3, Quake lost me at 3 as well because of the pvp focus (i preferred UT for my pvp DM/CTF/DOM fix), and Mechwarrior went to hell right after Ghost Bear's. It lost the clannish feeling MW2 had, even the music score of the following editions took me out of the immersion. Now seeing the franchise as a PvP MMO, while good for the people that dig that aspect of MW, it's sad for people like me that enjoyed the stories of the previous games.

btw*** Mech 2 (MW2) and Quake 1 (NIN) soundtracks are still my all time favorites of any pc games.

Tracks 5,11,14 in my abouve MW soundtrack link are making me very nostalgiac. :)
