Collection of Character Builds

RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 16

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this (move it please if it should be elsewhere!), but I thought it would be cool to make a collection of character builds that are optimal, quirky, or are just cool.

I'm the kind of person that sometimes gets inspired by seeing the mechanics-fu of others when thinking of a character to make next.

I'll get it started, and continue with more builds (and add your builds too) if people like the idea.

Barbarian:
Fiend of Terror Via Greater Fiend Totem, make adjacent non-evil opponents shakened without needing a check, and use Shatter Defenses to attack their flat-footed AC (20PB, lvl10)

Monk:
The Flash Gotta go fast (25PB, lvl10)

Ranger:
Critfisher Use Butterfly Sting, TWF, and high crit range to pass crits to allies frequently (20PB, lvl6)

Shadow Lodge

this is a good idea. i will admit that i build my characters in advance and put them in pdf form so when i need to play print one out and im good to go.

perhaps you should have a requirement that any posted character is labeled with the intent used to create it.

like "optimized", "roleplay", "low power" or "non combat" ect... other wise it may become a showcase for dpr builds that really dont translate well into actual play.

Tags are a good idea, though it would be important to define what they mean.

I assume that by "Optimized" you mean you get to do big DPR? (Because I feel that while my builds above are pretty optimized, I optimized them for combat in a different way than going for the biggest damage).

By "roleplay", do you mean of character fluff (w/o crunch)?

I'm working on another build using either Enforcer/Blade of Mercy or Cornugan Smash (or maybe both) right now (and of course Dazzling Display->Shatter Defenses), then either Paladin or Inquisitor (a choice of BAB versus Stern Gaze and getting Intimidating Bane) right now.

The topic needs community contributions to build up though, I can't churn out enough by myself.

If you have a build, go ahead and post it, along with a blurb about what it does, and the level and point buy used.
