Got that gamer that just never seems able to bathe before coming over?

Here is a little product for you and your group.

Yes. He sweats constantly, and often shows up marinaded in some cologne or another. Then he smells like cologne mixed with wet, moldy Cheetos.

Yes, & they really like to get in close to tell you things too

The Exchange

That is actually an interesting product and will be very useful for military or say rescue workers stuck in an inhospitable location for long periods of time.

Sovereign Court

If they have hygeine problems that serious, honestly I don't invite them to home games.

But, it's a good invention.

Dragon*Con needs to order barrels of this.

while the product does sound like it will have a good amount of uses (areas where water is scarce of unhygienic in its own right, backwoods hiking in the winter, the scenarios CJ mentioned, etc), it does have the potential to lead to the inevitable as well ... a neutral smelling gamer whose hair is greasy to the tune of 6 months of unwashing (unless the product works on hair as well ...)

I'm not sure what's worse: gamer BO, or gamer breath...

Gamer flatulence.

Liberty's Edge

Hmm I am wondering if it is similar to hand sanitiser in that it can actually foster germs . . .

Where did you hear this?

You mean by weeding out the weak microbes you are actually breeding a resistant superstrain?

Liberty's Edge

Yes, and from less efficient grime removal. It does not appear to be alcohol-based, though, so it probably maintains a fairly high level of germ-kill.

I wonder what the CDC thinks.

Remember this type of product from Shadowrun. It'll be interesting to see if it pans out and goes anywhere.

Hand sanitizers are only designed to remove the superficial bugs--they're not an excuse to quit bathing. Also, the alcohol-based sanitizers are precisely the ones that work best at killing bugs.

They work well in the short term, but when used regularly they seem to be less useful?

I've been blessed with a run of gamers with good hygiene habits. A few here and there have been a bit socially maladjusted, but that's to be expected.

Ever notice how the smell is musky, like a ferret?

Dark Archive

Hmm. If I ever show up to a game smelling like ferret, it's not because of a lack of bathing, but more likely because I was recently handling my pet ferret.

Is that what they call it now, "Handling my ferret." ;D

Wow--I've not heard this before. That's a good article. Thanks for sharing.
