Scroll creation questions

Rules Questions

Silver Crusade

So I didn't get much response in my tattoo magic thread, so I thought I'd try a new thread for this particular question, where I might get more answers. This is for Pathfinder Society, so answers need to be RAW only.

Playing mostly Pathfinder Society where creating your own magic items isn't allowed, I don't know anything about the crafting side of things. But I'm making a Tattooed Sorcerer who will be able to create spell tattoos at level 7, which are the same as scrolls, but written on living skin instead of parchment.

So when creating scrolls, are you just creating a scroll of the spell, or can you add in a metamagic feat on top of it?

And I know scrolls are fired off based on the variables (CL, save DC) of the creator, but does that include feats that affect such things? My Varisian Tattoo will give me +1 CL for certain spells, my bloodline will add to the DC of certain spells, and I may have Spell Focus for certain things. Will those variables be included in the CL and DC of my spell tattoo, even if I put it on someone else to fire off later instead of myself? If I have Spell Penetration by then, will it get added in to the spell tattoo's roll to overcome SR, even if someone else is using it to fire the spell?

Yes you can add metamagic in. It is in the magic item rules.
The caster level would be included by increasing caster level increases the price.

As for Spell Penetration and Spell Focus I don't know. I would think the answer is yes, but I don't know if I could prove it.

Who uses a scroll would not matter it would still work however it works. If the two feats I am not sure of work for you then they would also work for anyone else.

When it comes to regular scrolls feats that grant bonuses to casting effect are not included (no Spell Focus, no Tattoo Focus) unless specific class feature allows you to modify scrolls in that way (I think that Cypher Mage got some such). I am not sure how it will interact with Tattooed Sorcerer spell tattoo.

As far as I can tell, one could possibly create scroll with metamagic feats applied to it (except Quicken Spell, as it reduces casting time below minimum casting time of a scroll, IIRC, unless one would like to make quickened summon monster castable as a standard action - it would be probably not worth the expenditures). The scroll would use effective spell level to determine minimum caster level and would push the price considerably.
