Magus and shocking grasp

Rules Questions

for spell combat and spell strike it says you have to use a spell from the magus list. but since shocking grasp is on the magus list, what would happen if you had a 3rd level magus/1st level wizard/1st level sorc? would you have to take the broad study for both wizard and sorc? or just one? or neither since shocking grasp is already on the magus list? and do you get the shocking grasp spell for each of those? ie full allowance of 3 from magus, 3 from mage (with bonus and evoc specialize) and 2 from sorc--for a total of 8 shocking grasps a day?

and do all the cantrips run together or do you get the 3 from magus, 3 from wiz and 3 from sorc (or whatever number each give) to give you a choice of roughly 9 cantrips a day to choose from?

You would have the BAB of a 5th level wizard, but be expected to go into melee.

While a 5th level magus would be casting 5d6 shocking grasps, you will have 3d6 (magus) or 1d6 (wizard or sorcerer) shocking grasps.

It is a mistake.

That said it is a spell on the magus spell list, even when it's not a magus spell (notice the wording difference) so you can use a wizard slot to cast a shocking grasp for use with your magus abilities.

But it's a horrid mistake from a 'I want to be useful' perspective.

was thinking of adding intensify spell(metamagic) along with gifted adept and the minata region trait that lowers metamagic by 1 level)for my traits
then adding varisian tattoos and spell specializations---at magus 5 that would be 9d6 shocking grasp (+1cl-tattoo, +2cl specialize, +1cl gifted) and should be 5d6 for each of the wizard and sorcerer ones.

and for the sorcerer level if you took draconic bloodline-blue dragon--you get a +1 on every dice with electrical attacks.

Stack that with magical lineage. Gets impressive.

eh... debatable if magical lineage would stack w/ Wayang Spellhunter (the minata region trait he's referring to), plus its another magic trait, so you shouldn't be able to take it with gifted adept.

i never like delaying spell progression... eg no haste till level 9. but if you aren't playing much past level 6 it should be awesome. as you approach 10 a lot of the +CL stuff will be wasted since you still cap at 10d6 w/ intensify, and you will be able to afford plenty of pearl of powers so the extra spells won't really be so critical.
