Viable Tactic?

Is this viable or is there a hole in my logic somewhere?

Net-using Human Fighter...Exotic weapon net, net adept and PA feats at first level...typical tactic will be to advance to within 15 feet of the bad guy and ready a sword attack if the guy moves to within 5 feet of me...so if he moves to attack me, I net him with attack of opportunity (melee 10 foot reach attack because of net adept feat), then drop the net which is hopefully already entangling the guy as a free action and hack him with my greatsword as my readied action.

The problem I have is this, I would say you cannot ready an action if you are unable to make that action, If you have a net, then you cannot wield a greatsword as it requires 2 hands.

Is net a 2 handed weapon. If not, use a long sword?

Alternative: EWP: Net, Net Adept, EWP: Bastard Sword.

Since that allows you to use the Bastard Sword one- or two-handed, you should be golden.

Yes, it delays PA and your feat-chain a bit, but...

If you are actually going Fighter, and staying that way for at least 4 levels, you can retrain the EWP: Bastard Sword at 4th level, as long as it was the feat defined as your 1st level Fighter bonus feat.
