Is Dazing Fireball affected by Lesser Globe of Invulnerability?

The only metamagic that changes the effective level of the spell is Heighen Spell.

Except for Heighten Spell* (and maybe some feats/traits I can't think of right now) using a metamagic feat doesn't change the level of the spell.**

Personally, if you're casting unaugmented spells out of a higher spell slot (Sorcerer out of 3rd level spell slots pumping fireballs out of his 4th level spell slots) I think Heighten should be an automatic effect.

This is also one of the balancers for psionics. Augment that Mindthrust up to 20d10, it's still a first level power

Cool. That increases my opinion of globe of invulnerability lesser now, especially as a DM.

Don't forget the globe is immobile, and doesn't stop ongoing effects. So a fighter can close and if his party hit him prior with bull's strength bear's endurance and fly those will still be up inside the globe.

One trick I found real fun was to have a wizard inside an iron cage, or behind a portcullis or something, and just have him throw up a lesser globe. Very frustrating for the party.

As long as there's a weakness, that's a good idea.

By 'weakness' I mean something the party can do. (force the portcullis, push the cage into lava, etc. While the bad guys are supposed to be tough, the PC's should be able to win. :-))

On the flip side, since Dazing doesn't increase the spell level for any intents or purposes other than slot cost, that means you can still use a lesser metamagic rod on that dazing fireball to also make it Persistent. :)
