Deflect arrows vs guns?

Rules Questions

Simple question.

Can you deflect firearm attacks?

Thanks a lot.

It says in the feat you can deflect "an attack from a ranged weapon", so yes. It also says you can't deflect things like siege weaponry, spell effects, or projectiles from natural attacks.

Spoiler:
Deflect Arrows (Combat)

You can knock arrows and other projectiles off course, preventing them from hitting you.

Prerequisites: Dex 13, Improved Unarmed Strike.

Benefit: You must have at least one hand free (holding nothing) to use this feat. Once per round when you would normally be hit with an attack from a ranged weapon, you may deflect it so that you take no damage from it. You must be aware of the attack and not flat-footed. Attempting to deflect a ranged attack doesn't count as an action. Unusually massive ranged weapons (such as boulders or ballista bolts) and ranged attacks generated by natural attacks or spell effects can't be deflected.

RAW? yes.

From the PRD on firearms:

Quote:
Deflecting and Snatching Bullets: The Deflect Arrows feat and the Snatch Arrows feat can be used to deflect bullets, but not pellets shot from a scatter weapon. Neither of these feats can be used to deflect siege firearm attacks.

Bullets apparently pierce right through plates of adamantine armor, but they can indeed be slapped out of the way by a 1st level human martial artist. The more you know! :D

EDIT: Since bullets are stupid expensive, you could use Snatch Arrows to catch them and keep them as treasure. :P

What is metal compared to the purity of unarmed combat!

;)

Bullets do not pierce adamantine armor, unless they are made of adamantine. Stop being silly. Kinetic force "penetrates" adamantine armor.

Neo says Yes.

Liberty's Edge

Now we know what feat Wonder Woman uses.

She just has bracers of armor that somehow have the arrow deflection shield magic on them.

Maybe they aren't true bracers but D&D bucklers which actually look like bracers in the 3.x artwork. Mithral bucklers. :D

That is brilliant. My gunslinger/monk is inspired.

It's kind of like having your thieves catch legendary weapons thrown at them in Final Fantasy Tactics' "deep dungeon"; only a lot less epic. :P
