I'm thinking no, because I already spent to much time looking for it. It just feels like a bard would be the primary choice to use such a weapon.
Where do you get that idea? It's far more a rogue or assassin weapon, rogues are sneaky and dishonest by trade, and the latter just screams hidden weapon. Bards on the other hand are extroverts, much less to be playing cards that close to their chests.

I think a cane sword would be great fluff wise for a bard. walk around with a limp or have it bejeweled to fit his style and nobody knows your walking around with a weapon.
Unfortunatly I dont see any easy way for a bard to get proficiency without multiclassing or spending a feat.

P.S. on a side note, what publication is the entry for the sword cane in? I dont remember seeing it.

Given that the sword cane has a worse crit range than the rapier or short sword, both of which the bard has proficiency in, I'd just ask your DM. If not, a short word is a light weapon, which can be concealed with Slight of Hand; a scabbard made to look like a cane sounds like a masterwork tool to me. :)

It's in the Adanced player's guide

wow, I overlooked the crit threat range on the sword cane(20, x2). I thought it was the same as the short sword.
