I can vouch that eventually it gets silly. I have found a number of work arounds, although I fear they are specific to the campaign I run, in particular halving the amount of BP generated through the selling of magic items.
My stats, given as a kingdom and then individual cities as far as I know it are
8 cities, 16 districts.
Modifiers are:
Economy = +230
Loyalty = +258
Stability = +244
Rolls are being passed as standard, although Natural 20's might give you nice stuff and we will still roll for the economy roll at the end of each income phase.
