Tactics: Ser Rodric does not prefer to initate combat. Instead, he will seek a defensible position and adopt a readyl stance. If given time and opportunity, he will cast protection from evil, followed by bless (off a scroll) before engaging his foe. He relies on his relatively high AC & Saves to carry him through most fights, and his swift-action “lay-on-hands” to stay upright. He is also ready to engage in a non-lethal manner, if possible (with tanglefoot bag followed by non-lethal strikes with his weapons). In fact, if he is capable of doing so, he will strive to deliver at least some non-lethal damage to his foes. This will cause them to drop slightly faster, especially if they possess the Diehard feat or similar ability (like Orc Ferocity).
Not the sharpest tool in the shed, his intellect and mobility are his weakest links. His relatively low damage output on non-evil foes may also cause a hindrance. Given the opportunity to buff, however, he is capable of significant output, when you consider bless, divine favor, divine bond, smite, and bless weapon. It is highly unlikely that he will get all of that off, however.
He does have the goods necessary to render first aid (if that ends up mattering), as well as being potentially able to climb or handle physical skills. Beyond that and making friends with his fellow gladiators, skills are not Ser Rodric’s strong points. Survival in combat, now that’s where he shines.
