I have a new player that wants to make a swordlord that has relatives that fled Rostland into Mivon. I like the idea but haven't fleshed out any thing.

I did do a small writeup on a few Mivonese NPCs, I will see if I can dig it up for you. I plan to have one come forward and offer his services as a trainer and weaponmaster to the PCs general, who is a noble member of the Medvyed family and will probably accept without thinking too much about it. I can hardly wait to see what the Rostland Swordlord born PC baroness thinks of a Mivonese swordfighting school in her kingdom :)

I love the way you think!!

I did make up the Swordlord Council, which I posted *Here*, mostly in an effort to keep all my game notes in one place.
I liked your notes, but something confused me. I was under the impression that every Swordlord abandoned their old family name upon being accepted into the Swordpact and took the name Aldori instead. I could be wrong, but I think that that was a stipulation that began when Baron Aldori first took on students.

Yes probably according to canon in Golarion that is true. And all the families, Garess, Surtova, Orlovsky, etc are all approximately barons by canon. In order to add more layers of politics, I expanded all these factions to each have many families under them, so I did the same with the Swordlords. My version is definitely not RAW Golarion canon, but also not so far away it couldnt be tweaked depending on your campaign to use at least part of the info. By canon, I believe the swordlords are led by Jamandi Aldori and are a much smaller faction of warriors.
To be honest, the main reason I made them not all Aldori is that one of my PCs wanted to be a swordlord and did NOT want to be called Aldori. Since that PC is also the ruler of the PC Kingdom, I wanted to give them the freedom to establish their family name as the royal family.

I see. I could be wrong, though. Looking at the Guide to the River Kingdoms again it looks like the swordlords that run Mivon have family names.
