Max Dex to AC and Weapon Finesse

Rules Questions

My question is pretty simple. Say you have a rogue who has Weapon Finesse and a Chain Shirt for Armor. He has a 19 to Dex at level 7, turns level 8, and puts his stat bump into Dex, making his Dex a 20.

Now, his armor restricts him from gaining that full +5 Dex to AC (And CMD as well, if I read the rule correctly). But does it restrict his bonus to hit that he gained from Weapon Finesse?

Max Dex Bonus only applies to AC, nothing else.

I thought so, thanks.

As TOZ said, the only thing that might count which I never realised is a shield penalty when using weapon finesse:

"If you carry a shield, its armor check penalty applies to your attack rolls."

This has nothing to do with your question however :)

It's important to remember however. I love my tower shield cleric/fighter, but that -2 hurts.

Anyone ATTACKING shouldn't really be using a tower shield...a casting Cleric feels right at home behind the cover of his tower shield.

The phalanx soldier archetype can work well with a tower shield.

If only I were going straight fighter and not holy vindicator.
