Lite PDF Format....is amazing!

WOW! Thank you Paizo for creating this. This drastically improved upon the speed of me bouncing from PDF to PDF on my tablet. Thank you! What a difference!

If that was but 1 of 3 wishes in my ring of wishes, my second wish would be to be able to operate the interactive maps on my tablet. That was a huge disappointment when they came out.

Again, thank you SOOO much!

We would love to grant you that wish... but it's completely outside of our control. Apple's rendering engine just plain lacks support for some PDF features, and Apple is the only one who can add it.

I must point out that there are more tablets than those made by Apple.

This is true, but Adobe hasn't released the kind of support necessary on any tablet devices to support interactive functions like the ones used in the interactive maps just yet.

Do these lite versions work on the Nook? Are they even available for the Nook?

I ran them as PDFs on my Sony Reader, and I agree...the rendering speed was amazing. I am assuming the Nook can read PDFs?? I am not up on other e-book readers.

These are fantastic! Are all the backlog being done as "lite"?

My wife's nook color runs them beautifully. And my friend who has a nook tablet raved last night about how well they worked. He said he was able to quickly flip through 20 pages with no wait.

For now this download option is only being offered on current Pathfinder hardcover products. This is mainly due to the fact that their release is less frequent and is something we can fit into our production schedule at the moment. The hardcovers are also the most commonly requested to be more usable on tablets, phones and lower end machines.

What exactly was changed between lite and full versions? I've been flipping through the .pdfs side by side and they seem identical barring that the normal one loads much slower.

Liberty's Edge

The page backgrounds fade to a plain beige color towards the middle of the page, which is less graphic intensive. I'm also assuming the backgrounds are lower resolution.

What are the differences?

The Lite versions of the PDF have been exported with compressed and simplified page backgrounds that still resonate with the branding used in all Pathfinder products. They've also had minor tweaks to their export options that make them more friendly to use on lower end machines and on tablets or phones.

The non-Lite versions of the PDF best represent their printed counterparts. They use the fully built backgrounds used in the print versions which contain higher quality background artwork and rendering.

From this thread.
