Void / Wood / Metal Elemental Focus

If you are using one of the 3 alternate Elemental lists, can you take Elemental Focus for the spells on your list?

Would this be a house rule, or something that could be used in PFS?

How would that even work as a house rule? As far as I know, Elemental Focus gives you bonus on DC based on energy type (not on an Elemental school's spell list). Wood, Void, and Metal aren't energy types, so I don't know how the feat would help.
