Favored sub-race class bonus.

Grand Lodge

Are sub-races, such as the Duergar, Drow, and Svirfneblin able to take the favored class bonuses of their race to which they are a sub-race of?

Hopefully there will be a straight answer in the ARG but in the mean time i would say yes since they are consider those races for just about everything else. YMMV

Grand Lodge

So, this has yet to be addressed?

Grand Lodge

Can they take alternative racial traits, provided they replace something they actually have?

I would also say yes if they already have whats being repalced.

Grand Lodge

I was thinking of a Svirfneblin with the Master Tinker racial trait, which replaces the defensive training and hatred racial traits, which both of them have.

Grand Lodge

Bit of a necro. Can the sub-races take feats of the race they are a sub-race of?
Can Svirfneblin take a gnome feat? Can a Duergar take a dwarf feat?

If you're already saying "yes" to them being able to do favored class stuff and racial trait stuff, it would make sense to allow them to also do feat stuff.

Grand Lodge

I still want know the RAW.

It would make sense, seeing as negative effects such as 'bane' would effect them similarly.

For RAW: in their entries in the beastaries, it says what type they are, say a duergar is humanoid, (dwarf). Therefore it's a dwarf. Therefore, it can do those things dwarves can do (such as trade out racial traits they possess for new dwarf ones, and meet the prerequisite of being a dwarf for a dwarf feat).

Grand Lodge

Excellent.
