Converting Prestige Classes into Archetypes: good idea ?

Conversions

(I don't know if it's for Homebrewed or Conversions... meh, whatever...)

I'm thinking of converting the current prestige classes into actual archetypes for certain classes:
- Arcane Archer for Magi
- Arcane Trickster for Magi
- Assassin for Rogues and Ninjas
- Dragon Disciple for Sorcerers
- Duelist for Rogues (or Fighters)
- Loremaster for Wizards
- Pathfinder Chronicler for Bards
- Shadowdancer for Rogues and Ninjas
- Battle Herald for Cavaliers and Samurais
- Holy Vindicator for Clerics
- Horizon Walker for Rangers
- Master Chymist for Alchemists (duh)
- Master Spy for Rogues
- Nature Warden for Druids
- Rage Prophet for Barbarians
- Stalwart Defender for Fighters

(I haven't put Eldritch Knight and Mystic Theurge... because I have no idea how to convert them into archetypes)

2 questions:
1- Do you think that this is a good idea, considering that Prestige Classes are slowly getting shoved to the sides for archetypes ?
2- If so, will you help me convert them... or refer me to another thread if it was already done ?

Well, PRCs have their place.
PRCs are for when you can make changes to your existing character taking advantage of things that happen story-wise while archtypes are a minor change your character has always had from day 1.

Dunno that converting them into archtypes is they way to go.

Liberty's Edge

1) Not particularly. What would be gained from this?

Also, prcs aren't getting shoved to the side with the new Paths of Prestige book coming soon.

Archetypes are for interesting, focused variants on particular base classes.

Prestige classes are interesting ways for many types of character to come together. They have multiple entry points. Horizon Walker, for example, can be taken by literally anyone at 6th level at the cost of a skill point per level and a feat. They're interesting in a different way than archetypes.

There's also the RP angle. An entire party of adventurers could join, e.g., the Pathfinder Society and, if they chose, take one of the several associated prestige classes (chronicler, savant, delver, student of war) to represent their training. I like rolling a few prestige classes or adapting and reskinning existing PF or 3.5 material for this purpose even if none of my PCs are interested in taking levels in them.

There is already a Loremaster as an Wizard Archetype. the Scroll Scholar from UM, and Magus could e considered Eldritch Knight as a ase Class.
