This has been coming up a bit, and so I wanted to ask here.
A player here has a Conjurer Wizard with Augment Summoning, Summoner's Charm, Spell Focus (Conjuration), Varisian Tattoo, and the trait Gifted Adept (Summon Monster 1).
Let's say this Wizard is Level 1.
If they cast the spell Summon Monster 1 from a Wand, is the spell effected by the above feats and abilities (do the abilities extend the duration of the summon from 1 turn to 4 turns (Charm, Tattoo, and Adept), plus Augmenting the summon's stats)?
If they cast the spell Grease from a Wand,is the spell effected by the above feats for the purpose of its DC (bringing it from 11 to 13, thanks to Spell Focus and the Tattoo)?

I would say no feats apply to the use of wands, so if the wizard who specialized in conjuration uses a wand of summon monster (or grease for that matter) it has the effect of the base spell as if the rogue or magus used the wand.
Using Staves: Staves use the wielder's ability score and relevant feats to set the DC for saves against their spells. Unlike with other sorts of magic items, the wielder can use his caster level when activating the power of a staff if it's higher than the caster level of the staff.
Based off this if he wanted his feats to apply to the spell then he needs to buy a staff of summon monster. And if his two main spells are summon monster and grease and he wanted both to use his feats then he could buy 1 staff with both on it and recharge the staff himself when it ran out.
