Sorcerer / Oracle PFS Character

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Grand Lodge

Hey everyone.

I'm a big fan of sorcerers and have created a sorceress who I have in my mind as being possessed or sharing consciousness with a air spirit or possibly an unknown storm/lightning deity. So my choices are mostly aesthetic and running on this theme that she's a blaster with lightning and storm spells. Right now she's level one.

Crossblooded: Stormborn and Djinni. Race is human and her two feats are Elemental and Greater elemental focus: Electricity

Now looking through the options I feel that her concept would benefit greatly if next level she took a level of Oracle, with the possessed Archetype and Mystery of Wind. This would give her more spells and tailor her condition to certain conditions in game. The possessed archetype however does seem to substitute some very appropiate Oracle bonus spells down the line and gives little back that seems likely for a air spirit.

My question is this: The character is created for concept and roleplaying and I'm actually looking forward to the dynamics of playing a blaster that is essentially a one trick pony (sort of like how the X-Men only really have a single power) However, looking at the sorcerer/oracle posts on here there's a huge disfavour as they become underpowered at mid level. It seems a shame that for such a person to be possessed by such a being that she should trail behind mere mortal wizards and sorcerers at mid level, and I would still like her to pack some sort of a punch blast-wise as she progresses. Should she only take minimal levels in oracle, say 1 level for every 3 sorcerer levels? are there other paths that would stay true to the concept?

I've played with my own "Ororo" and I'd say stay straight Sorcereress.

As such she'd make a great member of the S-Men.

If your character concept requires levels in both classes, see if you can get by with sorcerer X/oracle 1 or sorcerer 1/oracle X. The reduced caster level and spell level access are crippling even after you qualify for the Mystic Theurge prestige class, and even then you won't get very far because of the PFS level limits.

You might want to reconsider the Crossblooded archtype if power level is a concern. Not getting 2nd level spells until level 5 kinda sucks.
