Ranger / Alchemist and Share Spells

Rules Questions

Can a Ranger in this case share his extracts with his Animal Companion? If so who does the drinking?

OH

Extracts are not spells. They are extracts. Share spells has no effect.

Anyone can drink an Infusion, if you know how to infuse your extracts. But you'd still have to take your action to force your animal companion to drink an infused extract.

OK, danke for that. Wasn't sure how extracts played in that situation.

also the ranger can only share spells that are on his class list with his companion. even a ranger/sorcerer couldn't cast a spell from the sorcerer list on his animal companion using the share spells ability, like false life or shield (target you, allowable through share spells). he could still cast mage armor on his companion (valid target, doesn't require share spells).

WHere do you get that from?

Share Spells (Ex)

The druid may cast a spell with a target of “You” on her animal companion (as a touch range spell) instead of on herself. A druid may cast spells on her animal companion even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the companion's type (animal).

no mention of what class the spells have to be from. unless there is something else, you can cast ANY spell you can cast on your animal comp
