Hypnotism vs. Suggestion

Rules Questions

I was wondering about hypnotism and suggestion's effects. Although Hypnotism can only affect 2D4 HD of creatures it seems that its capacity for commanding them is stronger. It states that the subject retains its disposition toward its command even after the effect of the spell. Furthermore a successful hypnosis causes the subject to forget it was hypnotized. I am unsure however if an effect of the suggestion spell such as "Forget what just happened" would still be in effect after the spell ends. Can someone clarify this, and is hypnotism really better than suggestion if it works?

Hypnotism doesn't make anyone "do" anything, it just makes them two steps more friendly towards you with regard to the request.
