Rules Question, Dragon Disciple

Rules Questions

Ok. I know this has been talked about in the normal forum before.

The Dragon Disciple ability "Blood of Dragons" says....

Spoiler:
A dragon disciple adds his level to his sorcerer levels when determining the powers gained from his bloodline. If the dragon disciple does not have levels of sorcerer, he instead gains bloodline powers of the draconic bloodline, using his dragon disciple level as his sorcerer level to determine the bonuses gained. He must choose a dragon type upon gaining his first level in this class and that type must be the same as his sorcerer type. This ability does not grant bonus spells to a sorcerer unless he possesses spell slots of an appropriate level. Such bonus spells are automatically granted if the sorcerer gains spell slots of the spell's level.

Now I'm sure we all know the question thats coming.

If I am a crossblooded Draconic/Orc Sorcerer, Does "Blood of dragons" help BOTH my bloodlines?

In my home game the anwser is "No, and go feel bad about yourself"

However as written it looks like it does.

Is this how it really works?

I guess its no big deal either way, its still a rather lackluster PRC.

Thanks for the help.

Silver Crusade

This question probably belongs in the rules forum, not the PFS forums. I hope you find your answer (and Dragon Disciple is a *good* PRC for my money)!

well the rules forum has talked about it and the anwser i got was "yes, thats how it works, but more then likley not what was intended"

I wanted to see if PFS play had any clarifications, just to make double sure.

**Edit** Thank you for the reply

I would say that as written, Dragon Disciple would stack for both bloodlines. Caveat: Dragon Disciple was written before you could have two bloodline so that may not be intention.

PFS runs by RAW with only a few exceptions. Rules questions tend to be.... well... rules questions and not really PFS specific. As such, you can make a character that plays exactly like you described. However, if the question is ever clarified in an errata or FAQ, then you must abide by the new ruling.

Summary: Go for it but be prepared to to change if the rules change.

Dark Archive

On the bright side, if there's FAQ changing the rules I believe you're entitled to a rebuild, although correct me if I'm wrong; it's possible that it wouldn't qualify for a rebuild and you would just lose a bunch of powers.

I would say that the penalty for going crossblooded makes it not overpowered anyway. We are talking about an 8th level character with BAB +4 who has just achieved his first third level spell.
