Now I know there has to be people on this site that have seen this one.

One of my favorite movies.

Liberty's Edge

"You killed my master!"
*pop*

"I was born ready."

Seen it two or three times so far, good movie.

Scarab Sages

I never drive faster than I can see. Besides that, it's all in the reflexes.

Scarab Sages

I own this movie on disc, and consider it easily one of the greatest movies ever made. Once road in an elevator with James Hong and thought for sure he was going to kick my ass just because he could.

I love the description by Kurt Russell

"A film that features a guy who thinks that he's the Action Hero, but he's really the Comic Relief Sidekick."

Great flick.

"Would you stop rubbing your body up against mine, because I can't concentrate when you do that."

"We really shook the pillars of heaven, didn't we, Wang?"

"Which Lo Pan? Little old basket case on wheels or the ten foot tall roadblock?"

"Terrific, a six-demon bag. Sensational. What's in it, Egg?"

"'Jack' what? I'm supposed to buy this sh!t? 2000 years, he can't find one broad to fit the bill? Come on, Dave, you must be doing something seriously wrong!"

Dark Archive

Great film always puts a smile on my face John Carpenter is a genius.

Escape from New York, The Thing, Prince of Darkness, Halloween and the Fog. All good under appreciated films. Now granted he had a few which were not so great but ... everyone one makes mistakes.

Wang Chi: Here's to the Army and Navy and the battles they have won; here's to America's colors, the colors that never run.
Jack Burton: May the wings of liberty never lose a feather.

Kurt Russell was the 80's Jason Stathem. He came to kick ass and chew gum, and he's all out of gum. :D

I ran a Pathfinderized/d20 Modern-ish version of a Big Trouble in Little China sequel.

Yes.

I'm a fan.

<keeps fingers crossed it will make it on to the list of games at Paizocon ... third time is the charm, hopefully>

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

"Wind, fire, all that kind of thing!"

EDIT: Also we'd better run, runnin' through the mystic night
runnin' through the rolling fire
runnin' through the burning blade
runnin' through the crawling snakes
mmm, runnin' through the midnight flame
run until they take us away,
take us away,
take us away
We got big trouble in little China
We got big trouble in little China

Dark Archive

"Oooh please, what is that? Don't tell me!"

Always cracks me up.

Jack Burton: What's in the flask, Egg? Magic potion?
Egg Shen: Yeah.
Jack Burton: Thought so, good. What do we do, drink it?
Egg Shen: Yeah!
Jack Burton: Good! Thought so.

"I took something. I can see things no one else can see. Why're you dressed like that?"

Like I told my last wife, I says, "Honey, I never drive faster than I can see. Besides that, it's all in the reflexes."

I may have seen it once...was that the one with Brandon Lee?

Nope, that was Showdown in Little Tokyo.

Hehehehe...hook, line, and sinker.

"Let's talk about my condition. What's wrong with it?"

"You'll be able to see things no one else can see! Do things no one else can do!" (best use of a Potion of Super-Heroism EVAH.)

"Wow, I'm starting to feel, like, kind of invincible." (Peace flashes other grinning fighters getting high in the elevator ride down)

"Do you have a spare key?" "Of course I have a spare key! I keep it under -" (grabs spare key under mat).

"Triple or nothing, Jack." "I thought it was double or nothing?" "Triple or nothing, you deserve it!" "You're right, I did!"

"You are NOWHERE!"

"You will be sent to the Hell where people are skinned alive as their symbol!!!" "Wut?" "Chinese have a lot of Hells, Jack."

"How'd you get up there?" "Wasn't easy!"

BOOM! "You will come out NO MORE!" "WHat?! What will come out no more?!"

=Can you tell it's one of my favorite movies, even though it's getting campy with the years?

Film quality's terrible, but this is pretty awesome.

Edit: ninja'd by Aelryinth, sigh.

Johnny Murata: We do this right. Like a cop in the 20th century and not some warrior, we're gonna get this guy. And when we're done we're gonna go eat fish off those naked chicks!

Wait that was from Showdown in Little Tokyo

Getting campy? If you looked up the definition of "campy" in the dictionary, it would be apt to find a picture of this movie poster next to it.

Hey, when I was twelve, it was awesome! I couldn't even tell how campy it was!

Just like some of my D@D games!

And, of course, whenever anyone in our campaigns drank a Heroism potion..."You can see things no one else can see! Do things no one else can do!"

==Aelryinth

Silver Crusade

In all seriousness, this is one of the sacred movie pillars of my childhood.

(alongside Star Wars, Dark Crystal, The Goonies, and Indiana Jones)

The Goonies?!

Some of us prefer Ladyhawke, Dragonslayer, and The Dark Crystal, okay?

*ducks to avoid nerdfight*

"Raaaaaaaaahhhh!!!"

"I don't think he's gonna stop..."

*BOOM*

Oh, and have I mentioned the best thing about this movie:

Jack Burton is the sidekick. That's awesome.

For anybody planning to play Feng Shui, watching this movie should serve as a great introduction.

"Is this gonna get ugly, now? Huh? I hope not. Because I thought what we were here, racial differences notwithstanding, was just a couple of old friends. You know, just both of us Californians."

Classic flick. The blu ray has an extended version.

Lo Pan: Egg Shen... EGG SHEN! You have come a long ways to find me. But it is too late. There are two girls with green eyes, and I will marry them both. And then I will sacrifice Gracie Law to appease my emperor and live out my earthly pleasures with Miao Yin.
[cackles]

Liberty's Edge

It's been too long since I last saw it, I really need to watch it again.

Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big ol' storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it."

Silver Crusade

I once designed a campaign for Gamma World using this as an inspiration.

John Carpenter and Kurt Russell in 2012!!

Jack: "Everybody relax, I'm here."

Gracie: "I'd go with you but..."
Jack: "I know, there's a problem with your face."

Reminds me about what (the other) Kevin Smith said in an interview when he was told Hercules and Xena were 'a little campy'.

"If it was any campier, I'd have cub scouts coming out my butt!"

I think that was Kevin Sorbo. My respect for him dropped considerably with the way his meddling wrecked Andromeda.

I liked him in Meet the Spartans (which, by the way, was 10x better than 300).

Nope, Kevin Smith. I think he also said in an interview that he and Sorbo were "Just jocks who got lucky." He always seemed so modest in interviews.

I have It on DVD, I also have Blazing Saddles, Stripes, and The Blues Brothers, I am looking for the Cannonball Run, when I add that one to my collection I will be happy. I will lend it to you nextime you come around.

If you don't mind subtitles and wire work the Mr Vampire series out of Hong Kong is ok.

One of the greats of the 80's.

A favourite of mine.

I will take you up on that 8th Dwarf, thanks.
