My Search-Fu failed me, and I couldn't find the answer in any previous threads, so here goes;
In a game I'm currently running, I've got a new character coming in who is a multiclass Druid/Witch that's going into Mystic Theurge. He wants to take the Healing Hex, but asked me what happens to it when he becomes a witch 3/druid x/MT 2, and the wording confused me a bit:
Healing (Su): A witch can soothe the wounds of those she touches. This acts as a cure light wounds spell, using the witch’s caster level. Once a creature has benefited from the healing hex, it cannot benefit from it again for 24 hours. At 5th level, this hex acts like cure moderate wounds.
The question was, if he's not a 5th level Witch, but his Witches Caster level was 5th, does it act as CMW or is it still treated is CLW? I'm leaning towards the latter, but I wanted to know what others thought before making a decision.

Healing (Su): A witch can soothe the wounds of those she touches. This acts as a cure light wounds spell, using the witch’s caster level(a). Once a creature has benefited from the healing hex, it cannot benefit from it again for 24 hours. At 5th level(b), this hex acts like cure moderate wounds.
Case (a) -- The ability is referencing actual caster level as it says.
Case (b) -- The ability is referencing actual class level.So in the case of a witch 3/druid x/ MT 2, the hex would provide a cure light wounds effect with a caster level of 5.
