Ring of Spell Storing - Enlarge Spell

Rules Questions

RAW indicates that it takes 1 round to activate the spell from the ring since the spell is a 1 round spell.

But nowhere does it indicate that a Concentration check is needed or would ever be needed.

So once I start activating it, can I then take AOO's (via combat reflexes) prior to the beginning of my next round where I would finally become 'large'?

I would think I could, but perhaps I'm missing something.

There is no text about interrupting the spell from the ring, or it failing.

I dont know the rules on it, however in my experience AoO's are meant to be taken during the action that caused them.

I just read it; I expected it to be a [spell trigger] or [command activated] item, but it seems to be neither.

AFAICT, it doesn't cast the spell - it gives you the ability to cast the spell. Therefore, yes on Concentration checks.

So those concentration checks would resolve based on the caster level of the ring? or the spell level of the spell being cast?

I'd missed the part about "minimum CL to cast the spell" before (if that would affect anything)...

Honestly, I'd say that

Quote:
The activation time for the ring is the same as the casting time for the relevant spell, with a minimum of 1 standard action.

means getting hit doesn't trigger a check at all.

But you should be considered occupied (unable to AoO) for the duration. (<-although I'm not sure where to directly support this RAW)
