Paizo products published since the release of Pathfinder RPG

Hello everyone! I'm new to Pathfinder, and new to these forums. I'm really impressed with what I've seen so far in the Pathfinder RPG and Paizo as a company. I especially think the Adventure Paths are brilliant in concept and execution.

I just got the core book of the PFRPG, and I'm a little overwhelmed with the number of PF supplements out there. I'm wanting to use the PF Campaign setting. I apologize if this question has been asked (a 100 times) before, but I've been unable to find the answer.

Is there somewhere on the site where I can see what Paizo products have been published since the release of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook and/or are completely compatible with the Pathfinder game system without any kind of conversion?

Thanks!

Hello Lex

Here is a list of the Core Materials for the Pathfinder Line. They are the rulebooks and are setting neutral.

If you want more on the setting, then you want the Pathfinder Campaign Setting as well as the Pathfinder Player Companion lines. Both have great options for GMs and players. Mind you, the earlier products are 3.5 but it's easy to convert.

Hope this helps.

The first books I'd look at would be the Advanced Player's Guide, Ultimate Magic, Ultimate Combat, and the three Bestiaries. You can view the OGL portions of them all online for free at PRD. There's also the Pathfinder SRD which contains about everything OGL that Paizo has ever released, plus a lot of third-party PF-Compatible material which may or may not fit in with the needs of your group.

I would suggest perusing the Advanced Player's Guide material next, followed by Ultimate Combat and Ultimate Magic. If you're interested in third party material, Psionics Unleashed (available on the SRD) is my personal favorite.

If you're looking to get into the PF Campaign Setting... then the three core books you'll need would be the Inner Sea World Guide, the Core Rulebook, and the Bestiary. That's pretty much all you really need to run adventures set in Golarion (the name of the Pathfinder campaign setting), and from there you can start focusing your attention on the type of supplements that grab your imagination the most.

As far as Third Party Companies go, I'd have to give props to the following:

Dreamscarred Press: Their biggest claim to fame is updating the psionic rules, races, and classes to Pathfinder. The main book itself is very good.

Frog God Games: This is a very good company with an old school gaming flair. They are famous for reprinting some of the Necromancer Games' classics, like the (in)famous Tome of Horrors book, a collection of the scariest monsters the like of which the world of gaming has ever scene. Many of the Pathfinder Bestiaries and Adventure Paths have cherrypicked from this book, so you know it's good. Also know for Greg A Vaughn's magnum opus the Slumbering Tsar series, which is an old school "better make multiple characters" kind of game. Greg A Vaughn helps run the company and he also writes many of the adventures in the Adventure Path series for Pathfinder.

Jon Brazer Enterprises: These guys have a pretty good wealth of stuff to choose from. Their most famous product (in my opinion also their best) is the Book of the River Nations: Complete Players Reference for Kingdom Building which has everything you need to have your players explore lands, build a kingdom, and fight with an army. This book expands on what is written in the Kingmaker AP. Dale McCoy Jr. frequents these boards as well.

Raging Swan Press: Another good publisher with an old school feel to it. I love their adventures and TRIBES so far, especially Shadowed Keep on the Borderlands. Great editing and very easy on the printer.

Rite Publishing: I can't say too much about these guys since I don't own their work, but many of my friends simply love this company. They are best known for their Coliseum Morpheuon series as well as Pathways, a free e-zine with all kinds of goodies in there for GMs. And it's free. FREE!!

Super Genius Games: My favorite on the list. These guys make some of the best classes and races I've ever played. Very fun, pretty balanced, and good editing. Best known for their Genius Guides series and their dollar priced Bullet Points series, as well as the now defunct Dungeon a Day site.

I hope this helps and wish you luck on your endeavors into Pathfinder.

Don't forget about Paizo Fans United - twice yearly free fanzines with tons of awesome material to use. The next one (which I believe comes out near PaizoCon?) sounds like it will be quite relevant to the Rise of the Runelords Hardcover coming out this summer. Here's hoping for another Taste of Golarion article! Mmm.

This page is a good place to start.

From there you could check out the modules, campaign setting or player companion lines, each of which are subdivided into 3.5 supplements and pathfinder supplements.

The adventure path page (strangely) isn't broken up by ruleset, but anything from council of thieves downwards was written for the pathfinder rules (ie the first four were written for 3.5).

Thanks for all the help guys! I think I'm going to get Inner Sea World Guide next. :)

Not defunct, just... resting. :) Hopefully we'll have an announcement soon.

BTW, welcome to the world of Pathfinder, Lex!
