Cavalier Charging damage, please validate my math

Rules Questions

Order of the Sword Cavalier level 20 who Charges on his horse mount attacks a giant...

Lance 1d8 x3

Charging (lance deals double damage while charging) 1d8 x4
Cavalier Supreme Charge (lance deals double damage) 1d8 x5
Spirited Charge (lance deals triple damage) 1d8 x6

(Assume PC Str +1, Weapon +2, Challenge +20, Knight's Challenge from Order +2, Mount Str from Order +5)

so a regular charge at level 20 is?
6d8 + 6*(30)
6d8 + 180

And a critical hit would be?
7d8 + 7*(30)
7d8 + 210

Liberty's Edge

Forgive me for asking the captain obvious question but where is the x3 coming from to start the discussion.

That aside, it looks right, a bit low, but that's without power attack, vital strike, or a decent strength bonus and only a +2 weapon.

The lance has a crit range of x3 on a natural 20

All due respect gravalpea, but he didn't say 'on a 20' he said 'at level 20'. So either it's very low for a level 20, or it's overstated for figuring out what to roll for a critical success.

What? I thought I was answering the question as to where the x3 the poster below the original poster was asking. I was trying to be specific. I guess I failed in more than one area. :(

*shrug* oh well, live and learn.

Yeah the 1d8 x3 is for the crit, I don't care about the actual damage, just that the math is correct. thanks!

Now that I know more about what you're looking for, the math isn't correct.

Normal strike:

1d8 +X base x (1 base +1 charging +1 Supreme charge +1 spirited charge) = 4d8 x 4X

Crit:

6d8x 6X

Sorry Gravelpea, my point was, the OP didn't say anything about a crit until the last line, and gave a second damage line for it, so I wasn't sure where the 3x was coming from. The only mention of a crit was on the last damage question, but the x3 was included in the non-crit.. so...

lvl 20 gendarme

x4 for final ability including lance/spirited charge.

x6 on a crit.
