weapon enhancement vs special quality

Sovereign Court

if you have a +3 weapon, its +3 hit/damage easy enough.

but if you have a flaming shock frost weapon (a total of +3 enhancement), i know you wouldn't get the damage, but do you still get the +3 to hit?

Dark Archive

No.It would be +1 to hit and damage.

But that weapon would have to be +4 as a weapon needs to be a straight +1 before adding any weapon special qualities to it first.

There is no such thing as a "flaming shock frost weapon". All weapons need at least a +1 bonus before you apply any special abilities. At the minimum, you would have to have a +1 flaming shock frost weapon (equivilent to a +4 weapon).

A +4 weapon grants +4 to hit and +4 to damage.
A +1 flaming frost shock weapon only grants +1 to hit, and +1 to damage.

figured as much, just doing some weapon research for my monk, since his fists cant get good buffs right now. AoMF way too much for me. need to buddy up to a wizard w/ GMF

That might be kind of hard. Considering Magic Fang is a druid and ranger spell, not a wizard spell.

Edit: You said monk. In that case, a wizards Magic Weapon an be used. Everyone elses unarmed strikes would require Magic Fang instead.

Wizards do not get Greater Magic Fang. Druid 3/Ranger 3 spell.
