I have a question about crafting magic items.
Can the base masterwork piece for a wondrous item be any like item of clothing?
For example, can a belt of giant strength be crafted into any clothing item that fills the belt slot or does it HAVE to be a thick leather belt with large metal buckles. For example, could a Minkaian crafter put giant strength into an obi designed to be worn with martial gear?
Same question about boots of striding and springing - can the features of the magic item be imbued into any piece of footgear that fills the same slot as a pair of boots?

Ask your GM. Generally, I think most treat the flavor text descriptions as recommendations, or ideas of what the items "often" look like. I know the judges in RPG Superstar dinged people for using absolute terms for describing items. Personally, I don't think I've ever had a GM who would have taken issue with making a belt into an obi, assuming the mechanics were identical.

Only weapons and armor/shields needs to be masterwork to be enchanted. All other magic items don't have that requirement. You can enchant a piece of string as a belt, or pick a twig up off the ground for a wand.
Armor to be made into magic armor must be masterwork armor, and the masterwork cost is added to the base price to determine final market value.
Only a masterwork weapon can become a magic weapon, and the masterwork cost is added to the total cost to determine final market value.
None of the other item types have anything like that.

well, I was more concerned about the form than the quality. can a belt be a piece of string or a sash? can boots be any form of footwear? that sort of thing.
A magic item can take any form. There is nothing preventing a crafter from making a belt out of a sash. (I was going to show a monk's belt as a magical belt made from a rope, but Pathfinder changed that item into Monk's Robes.)
