You ever notice that when someone use 'In my Humble Opinion,' they're usually about as far from 'Humble' as you can get?

I think the IMHO can also mean In My HONEST Opinion. Neither really necessitate curtosy, or rather NOT being rude, per se.

I always thought IMHO was ironic on purpose. That's how I use it.

It's like when someone says, "I'm not racist but..." or, "I don't want to get into this but..." you know the very next thing they say will be exactly that.

Well http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/IMHO - says both...

Im NOT really a humble person - and as Kydeem has noticed neither are most other people on the forums.

Honest - as in "to the best of my knowledge" or "if-i'm-wrong-I'm-not lying-on-intentionally" - that's how i intend my use of IMHO.

Why should I bother with humility? I know how great I am, and once I bestow my opinion upon you, you will know how great I am as well.

IMHO, I don't think that term implies that one need approach the expression of one's opinion with timidity. All the "H" represents is the self-deprecating acknowledgement of one's own sense of subjectivity and fallibility.

I use "imho" as "honest" not "humble." If I had ever used it and meant "humble" it would have been intentionally ironic.
