This popped up in the Playtest Monk thread, but does a Monk's Power Attack penalty/damage bonus change when he flurries? The Monk in question was 20th level and has a natural BAB of 15, but when he flurries, his BAB is equal to his hit die, or 20. Does this temporary increase change his Power Attack from -4/+8 to -6/+12?
I'm leaning on the side of no because the increase in BAB doesn't qualify the Monk for feats or other abilities, so it would stand to reason that Power Attack is based off your actual BAB, not a temporary one.
I guess this also affects other classes with similar abilities that temporarily increase BAB, such as Wizards that cast Transformation.

It's -6/+12 when flurrying, after which point it goes back to -4/+8. Our group treats your FoB penalties(power attack included) and bonuses as lasting until the beginning of your next turn instead of until the end of your turn, just to eliminate the confusion of what happens to your attack/damage bonus after flurrying.

This got answered in the other thread:
Actually, Monks use Full BaB (unless they will change it in the future).
Quote:Monk: How does a monk's improved BAB when flurrying interact with feats like Power Attack and Combat Expertise, which have different effects depending on your BAB?
The monk uses his improved flurrying BAB to determine the effect of those feats.—Sean K Reynolds, 07/08/11
Thanks for the clarification!
