Sadly No.
Honestly this is about the worst Alchemist Archtype going. As you level you actually get worse.
How so?
I'm thinking of a character who's kind of like Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde or Bruce Banner/ The Hulk - in his normal form he's meek and brainy, but after a mutagen he becomes a raging, intellectually-challenged, melee fighter. So the Ragechemist archetype seems like a good fit.
If not, is there a better approach?
Thanks.

The problem is that you can do this just as well with a normal mutagen. All the ragemutagen does is provide a minor static increase to your strength, at the cost of a declining int score with penalties that stay with you for a while after your mutagen ends. So you get a little stronger at the start, and (potentially) dumber each time you get hit.
If the strength bonus increased every time you failed the will save, then it would be a good archetype and would match your concept. (Even at +1 Str for -2 Int, it'd be decent.) As it is, you can just do the exact same thing by using a normal Strength mutagen and taking the discoveries to boost it.
You might want to consider the Master Chymist instead (or in addition).

Ok, Master Chymist. Got it.
Is there a better archetype, or should I stick with the base Alchemist class? I don't really need poisoning, so perhaps Beastmorph? Any suggestions?
Beastmorph is workable. Vivisectionist is fun if you want to focus on melee combat instead of bombs.
