Trying to decide what spell to create

Homebrew and House Rules

My DM and me want my wizard to create a spell or two but i am at a loss as to what kind of spell to create, so any help from you (whether it's a 3.5 spell or a spell of your own creation) would be very welcome.
A few info about the character and the game:
We aren't playing in Golarion, although any paizo PF spell exists in the world.
The wizard will be 15-16 level when he will have the chance to research a spell or two.
The wizard is an elf, a blaster (evoker + 1 level dip sorc).
Our main goal is to stop the demons from destroying the world.

Spontaneously i would try to mesh a sonic blast with some kind of divine/banishment spell.

Something I had done a while back when playing around with the idea of trying to convert each of the signs in the Wither series into usable spells in Pathfinder:

Igni Sign: like burning hands, 60ft cone deals fire damage. Reflex save to half damage, if reflex save is failed creatures in cone are burned, for 1d6 rounds and take 2d6 fire damage each round, and is fatigued.

You could change the fire damage and burn to something different to better suit being used against demons.

Here is an idea for a spell.

Blade Wyrm
It creates a 30ft long 5tall 5wide area of spinning metal blades. Give it a fly speed of 30 and have it attack like a swarm. The duration should be rounds per level and require concentration. Give it a range of close.

The cool trick to the spell is this. The material component to the spell is a metal weapon of some kind. It is destroyed when the spell is cast but when the spell ends the weapon reapears in a square occupied by the Blade Wyrm. The Wyrm has a base damage but it has the same enhancements as the weapon used in the spell. Ghost touch, +5 shocking Burst, holy, silver, or what have you.

Look at flaming sphere, lightning bolt, floating disk, and blade barrier for inspiration.

I think this would end up a level 6 or higher spell and transmutation.

Very very interesting idea HermitIX.

Scry trap
School divination;
Level bard 6, sorcerer/wizard 6
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M ( 1000gp of snake skin)
Range personal
Duration until discharged
Saving Throw reflex negates; Spell Resistance no
If anyone attempts to scry you during the spells duration a snake such as from Sepia Snake Sigil jumps out of their focus (pool of water, mirror, Crystal ball) and attempts to bite them as per the spell. This spell does not stop scrying, but you are aware when the spell is discharged.

What do you think right level? Any problem with a wording. I just liked the idea of a way to get back a scryers and keep them on there toes.

also it needs a better name Scry trap is taken how about scry bite

First of all the school seems a bit off, wouldn't such a spell be abjuration? And the level seems a bit off maybe 5? although you can just cast a dozen of them to be protected by a dozen scrying attempts....

wizard 7th
greater bestow curse
like the demilich spelllike ability.

I forgot to say that the character has necromancy and enchantment as opposed schools.

for people stacking it remember it has a component cost. As for the level that is always up to debate.

Scry trap
School divination;
Level bard 5, sorcerer/wizard 5
Casting Time 10 minutes
Components V, S, M ( 1000gp of snake skin)
Range personal
Duration until discharged
Saving Throw reflex negates(see text); Spell Resistance no

One thing you could always do is try to find in-character reasons for custom spells.

Has you character come across a situation that vexed him or her, inspiring them to devise a spell that counters said situation?

Perhaps your caster has seen a specific monster's special ability that isn't already a spell, and wants to try replicating it.

Or maybe your caster has hit upon a phenomenon that he or she found intriging, and wishes to experiment with it. An example of this is a spell I devised which can temporarily sever an undead creature's connection to either the controlling necromancer or to the creature that spawned it, making it uncontrolled. It even had the effect of granting the undead in question a reprieve from the urges of its undead form, allowing it to behave in accordance with its original alignment. I even made a more powerful version that was permanent.

Channeled Sound Blast

Awesome Evocation Spell from 3.5, its got good versatility even if the 1d4 as a swift action is a little cheesy.

Hah! I remember those. My favorite of the "Channeled Spell" series was always the Channeled Necroburst. Negative energy Hadouken anyone?
