Can anyone recommend a list of organized play scenarios which have romance in the story line? Thanks,

WJ

Silver Crusade 5/5

The only one that has romance that I've seen is Murder on the Throaty Mermaid...but that was a bit more "kinky".

Ms. Flowers is a hopeless romantic, I hear.

Spoiler:
Particularly kinky with magical gender-swapping involved, depending on which NPC the murderer is.

I can however think of a PFS-approved adventure that includes a NPC attempting to seduce a PC. Definately doesn't count as romance, however.

Spoiler:
In Feast of Ravenmoor, a PC is approached and propositioned. Should that PC agree to go roll in the hay, he's kidnapped and set up for the climactic sacrifice instead.

I could see that. I have GM'ed those modules already... too bad the one PC that we have who could have been a potential love interest wasn't along for the ride those times.

@deusvult, yup we ran both Throaty Mermaid and Ravenmoor already.

What I am looking for is not necessarily involving the PC in it, but that romance is part of the story line itself.

Thanks for the feedback so far,

#27 Our Lady in Silver

Spoiler:
Opens with a marriage ceremony. It's an arranged marriage iirc, but potentially alot going on there. Unfortunately the scenario doesn't focus on it very much at all.

Romance in Ravenmoor??? All I heard was a lot "you folks ain't fr'm 'round'ere" and "we don'lawk yo' kand' 'round'ere"...

Didn't one of the good ole boys tell you that you have a 'purdy mouth' too?

Yea, that did have a bit of romance between NPC's and could be hammed up a bit. Especially when you see Doug Miles do it. lol

Well, to mention another adventure that you and I played together recently, there was a romantic story in Midnight Mauler.

And, of course, most of the Cheliax faction missions have kinky overtones in the writing, but I doubt that's what you meant.

I've always run it as essentially a love story.

Fortune's Blight. Hag/Harpy love affair gone wrong.

The couple that gets married in Our Lady of Silver (# 27) is definitely in love.

when I played The Frozen Fingers of Midnight with my Love domain Cleric
the Judge:

plot spoiler:
Played up a love interest between the person you are trying to save and the witch on the boat. They had been separated and she had been forced into an arranged marrage - and the undead captain would not let her escape the frozen ship. It was a very heart warming love story to me... it wasn't until I started prepping it to run it that I found the entire sub plot had been invented by the Judge! But it was so cool (yeah, it's a pun... frozen boat - cool... so sue me)

Interested to see that I'm not the only judge who thought there might be a thing between those 2 NPCs. My interpretation of it was that

Spoiler:
Skelg and Halydr had been in a love triangle with Natalya. This sparked the rivalry between Skelg and Haldyr. Alas, poor Natalya perished to the party's optimized barbarian in a single round. This lead to Pathfinders being banned from Irissien for Exiles of Winter, as the ice witches blamed the Society for her death.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will look into Our Lady of Silver and Frozen Fingers... yes, Fromper, I definitely would categorize Midnight Mauler as a love story.

As for the Paracountess' missives being romantic- unfortunately she has been reduced to a stereotype/trope of BDSM. This makes her more comical than she needs to be... pity, really.

If I ran a full campaign out of Absalom, I would be playing up her hedonistic and political aspects a bit more and only trotting out her other predilections in a more slow, subtle, and tempting manner to any PC that pursued a romance with her. The dynamics of that kind of relationship could be a lot of fun to play out.

In our home PFS games, the only thing she has contributed is sending a "man servant" to our Paladin as a reward upon her attaining the first level of Hellknight... of course, the slightly embarrassed Paladin put him to work with house-chores immediately- not quite what the Paracountess had intended.

Back to the original post- I was looking for scenarios which feature a good love story... which I enjoy in a scenario. Sounds like Frozen Fingers contains the beginnings of one- which a GM could embellish upon. I think I am definitely going to pick that up.

Thanks again, WJ

To play up the romance to Our Lady of Silver:

Spoiler:

Before Act One, make sure that the party gets to meet Farendir Faireven, who will want their assistance translating (risque Elvish) poetry for his beloved. Make sure he comes across as a love-smitten dork.

Let them meet his intended, who is both lovely and intelligent but kind of cloistered (and a bit of a love-smitten nerd herself). Ideally, the party should see them as perfect for each other. She may ask embarrasing questions of the Pathfinders: She sees her husband as a dashing adventurer (he's really more of a bookish scholar) and is afraid that she lacks the experience to know what such a "worldly" husband would want. Such an encounter can be as corny as you prefer.

Later in the adventure, the couple can reappear to encourage the party while they await trial. They appreciate the party's efforts, but they're worried by the evidence against them. In that scene, everything they say should inadvertently make the party's situation sound even worse. "I hope that they let you go, but if you're executed, we'll visit your heads every day until they rot off the pikes outside the palace!"
