Have any of you seen this?
I've caught the series pilot on YTV this weekend and was pleasantly surprised. It's gritty, pretty serious, and the animation is fairly well made. I think I'll continue watching it.
When I first saw the commercial for it a few days ago, I thought to myself "Oh man... They'll screw this up REAL bad."... And I was so afraid they'd mess it up like the new Transformers Cartoon. But no. They really did a great job.

Yeah, down here in the States they are showing it on the new Nick Toons channel, which I don't have. The real kicker is that South of the Border they are showing it on Jetix, which I do have the USA version of. Is it really a Days of Future Past type story like the trailers seem to indicate?

It certainly looks that way, they seem to have ignored whatever caused this backlash at one point I thought Wolverine had been sent into the future until they started showing flashbacks.
Even scarier is the way they've turned this into an imitation of the German Nazi regime in the way they don't care for anyone expressing an opinion that isn't the same as theirs.
And the most chilling part is the hint it isn't just the US who are doing this...
Very scary indeed!

I've enjoyed what I've seen of it thus far. The last episode introduced Gambit, and he's no hero, which is the way it should be. I also like that Rogue is show prior to her absorption of Marvel Girl's powers. The dialogue also contains a lot less cheese than the prior cartoon incarnation of the X-men, to be sure.

I also liked how Magneto took apart the entire team, easily. (Shame this Kitty couldnt' airwalk though)
I also like the 'reluctant leader' bit with Wolverine. Of course we still have the problem of 'our main character's powers are about cutting people into pieces, and healing. How do we show that on TV?'
Emma Frost rocks.
It looks like the cartoon mixes the 90's cartoon and the movie timeline. I don't know enough to know how much Ultimate leakage has come in.
