My definition of that would be that that's technology, not science. They could just as well have been horse-buggies, crossbows, and ocean-going sail-ships for the effect it has on the story.

It's a fair point, but that's why I stipulated "non-sci-fi" *AND* "non-high-tech" to cover both ends of the technicality. Laugh at the science all you like; it still has spaceships and robots and lasers and all manner of "technological terrors," to quote Darth Vader. :)

So give it up - the question is still open!

1.) Willow
2.) Labyrinth
3.) Beastmaster

Give us a question back, Bob!

My bad, I thought it was open a bit longer, uhhh...

Best action movie with a female lead who isn't Uma Thurman.

Scarab Sages

La Femme Nikita

Best movie with Jean Reno that isn't a Luc Besson movie?

Tais-Toi! (Ruby & Quentin in English). He plays a criminal who befriends the slow-witted Quentin (played by Gerard Depardieu) in prison - they escape together as Ruby tries to get at his hidden loot and hilarity ensues.

Favourite French action movie that's not by Luc Besson?

Scarab Sages

Brotherhood of the Wolf.

The Untouchables, though Ken Burns' documentary about Prohibition was pretty good too.

Favorite father-son actor pair and favorite movie for each?

Grand Lodge

Kirk Douglas - Spartacus

Michael Douglas - Romancing the Stone

Worst sequel to a movie you really enjoyed?

Predators II: It was certainly worse than the first but I still liked it for numerous reasons.

Favorite Oliver Stone film?

Mine is Conan the Barbarian

Salvador

Btw, dear Badger, Stone only co-wrote the Conan script; it was directed by John Milius.

Favorite other movie that was written and/or directed by either Oliver Stone or John Milius?

Tomorrow Never Dies, the second worst Bond Movie ever made.

I'd personally rate Quantum of Solace, The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Moonraker, The Spy Who Loved Me, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever, et al. as all being a LOT worse.

Interestingly, Tomorrow Never Dies is the only James Bond movie that my wife actually likes.

Funny, that's exactly the combo that came to my mind when I thought of the question. :)

I'm guessing its where everyone freezes, a few wee themselves and they leap into action ready to kill the secret monster...

but actually, the noise outside was a cat going through the bins.

Yeah, pretty much :)

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2008 Top 4; Contributor; Publisher, Legendary Games

I'll answer the question then.

My favorite is in X2: X-Men United, when Wolverine has a cat sneak up on him and he busts out the claws on it, and the widdle kitty licks his claws.

Favorite actor/role by a little person/dwarf/midget?

Verne Troyer as Mini-Me, because Game of Thrones is not a movie.

Favourite spy movie?

The Spy Who Came in From the Cold

Favourite Richard Burton role?

Scarab Sages

That's a hard one - he was such a great actor!
I think I will go with Petruchio.

Favorite Michael York role?

Grand Lodge

No contest for me Logan in Logan's Run. I was an impressionable teenager when that movie came out. As a result, I have had a lifelong crush on Jenny Agutter.

Favorite movie with Jenny Agutter that is not Logan's Run?

An American Werewolf in London

Favorite anthology movie?

I would say Cat's Eye

Favorite war film.

Grand Lodge

Saving Private Ryan

What is your favorite actor/actress that you have a crush on because of a certain movie? Name the actor/actress and the movie.

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2008 Top 4; Contributor; Publisher, Legendary Games

If it were a TV show, I'd say Elizabeth Montgomery in "Bewitched," but if we're talking movies I'd probably say Drew Barrymore for everything she's ever been in, but with her it was more an accumulation of things rather than one particular role. If we're talking single movie, I might have to go with... Virginia Madsen in Creator.

Favorite animated/voiceover role by an actor/actress that you think is totally hot in real life?

Mel Blanc as Bugs Bunny.

Favorite Hanna-Barbera cartoon?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The Herculoids. Favorite Space Ghost villain?

Black Widow

Favorite villian with some sort of super power.

Grand Lodge

Dr. Doom

Favorite movie that had one of the Fantastic Four actors in it, that is not one of the Fantastic Four movies?

Hmm I am going to call foul Dr. Doom never had a super power he was smart and had a suit.

I was meaning someone who had extraordinary powers not granted by technology.

Sin City Jessica Biel.

If this is still a movie game and not a comic book game, the answer is correct. In the movie, Doom got power over electricity when he was subject to the same radiation as the FF - not comic book lore, but movie lore.

So: You need to provide a new question!

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2008 Top 4; Contributor; Publisher, Legendary Games

Also, double-foul, as Jessica Biel wasn't in the FF movies. Jessica Alba played Sue Storm.

Jason Nelson wrote:

True but Jessica Alba also was the one who played in Sin City so I got the name wrong but the person correct.

Okay I will provide a new question fair enough I guess Dr. Doom in the film did have some super powers.

Favorite Fantasy film star not in Lord of the Rings. (needs to have wielded a weapon that was not a firearm.)

Christian Bale, who played Jum-Jum and Benke in Mio min Mio (Mio in the land of Faraway).

The film also had Christopher Lee as the evil Riddar Kato (Cato the Knight) who sends out his monstrous minions to kidnap the children of Faraway to toil as slaves beneath his dungeon.

(It's a fairly crap film, but Bale grew up to be pretty good, eh?)

Favourite Hammer Horror movie?

Let me In, though I did like the Swedish version more.

Favorite Vincent Price Film?

Thriller

Favorite movie with an African-American singing star?

Are we opening the do to Music Videos being considered films?

As in: Did you enjoy the latest Justin Beiber FILM?

Oh, I'm sorry.

First off, did you know that the whole Thriller video is, like, 13 minutes long?

Second, did you know that I am Doodlebug Anklebiter and I can do whatever the [redacted] I want and you're like some dude who's posting in this thread, for what?, the first time?

And finally, yeah, I liked the new Beiber film just fine, thank you.

[Throws gang signs]

No, I'm only kidding. I didn't like it very much.
