we were in a certain AP and we came a cross a giant wasp a really big one. This wasp has SR and DR good/5. Our alchemist has an explosive bomb and a fire bomb apparently they are different? the wasp took some fire damage from the Alchemist bomb. The damage from the bomb is fire correct? and that is energy damage?
so would the wasp absorb the first 5 points of the Bomb damage because it was not good aligned? or would it just take all the fire damage because the DR good is for physical attacks and it has to specifically have fire 10 to absorb fire damage?
our dm was confused.

This is one the few shticks that make the alchemist a viable class. If your alchemist is a situation where he can shine, don't read too much into it. There will be other situations where other players can shine. If your dm has a lot situations where the alchemist is in the spotlight, to the point where others are overshadowed, then it is the dm who is the problem, not the class. Let him know that it is okay for each player to shine, and in fact, should be that way. By the way, if you have an alchemist, have the party go in on a Elixir of Shadewalking, as the alchemist's alchemical allocation will make this item viable.
