Just one question here: in the article on Asmodeus in #29, they list some creatures that can be summoned by Asmodean clerics. For Summon Monster V they list the Bearded Devil. However, the Bearded Devil is already available for that spell in the main rulebook. Does anyone know just what new devil or monster was meant to be included there?

Council of Thieves, being the first true Pathfinder path, was being written while the rules were still in a bit of a state of flux. Maybe it was written before Bearded Devils were on the list, maybe whoever wrote it didn't realize they were there. Either way, it is probably just an error. Best to ignore it and move on.

For a short period, the summon monster lists were trimmed a little bit to make sure they'd all fit on the page (bearded devils were on the 3.5 list). I'm guessing that the bearded devil was one of the monsters cut. Asmodeus's list added them back in (a note in my turnover says as much), and it probably went to the printer around the time the Core Rulebook did, and we didn't realized they had been re-added to the Core Rulebook list.

Mister Reynolds (and Mort), thank you. I supose I shouldn't grumble too much; after all, Asmodeans do get to summon fun stuff like hell hounds and cerberi. And really, I'm such a dog person at heart.
Oh, and one more dumb question: you can use spells like Greater Planar Ally to summon the powered up versions of both those monsters (Nessian Hellhounds and Greater Cerberi), yes?

No reason why you couldn't. Unlike summon monster, planar ally is pretty wide open. If it is in the HD range and there is no alignment conflict, go for it.
