Polymorph as a buff

Advice

Hi,

so i want to transform the meele damage dealer into an animal with the spell "Polymorph" ( lvl 5 Wizard). She should keep the ability to wield a weapon and get something like grab/pounce in addition to the +4 str.
So it works like the spell Beast Shape II more or less.

I dont know exactly if it's possible so I need some advice.

thank you very match for help

3 problems:

1. all gear merges into the new form, so you need preparation (take off, polymorph, put back on)
2. that gear needs to fit your new size (large)
3. which kind of *animal* can use weapons such as longswords? Note that elementals, which you could transform him to, are disputed to be able to wield weapons as well.

So no, it would not work IMO.

By the rules there is no animal that does that.
I think barbarians can get pounce though.

Shouldn't a gorilla be able to hold a sword, and therefore (being a warrior transformed in a Gorilla) be able to use it?

Maybe, it's a DM's call. I find it a bit cheesy, though :-P

Better to simply enlarge IMO :-)

As a DM I wouldn't let a caster summon a Gorilla and throw him a sword, but in the case of a Warrior transformed into a Gorilla, I'd have a hard time rejecting it!
