Can you `Take 10` using the Merciful Healer's `Combat Medic (Ex)` ability?

Rules Questions

Cleric Archtype: Merciful Healer

Combat Medic (Ex):

A merciful healer does not provoke attacks of opportunity when using the Heal skill to stabilize another creature or casting healing spells.

and
Taking 10:

When your character is not in immediate danger or distracted, you may choose to take 10. Instead of rolling 1d20 for the skill check, calculate your result as if you had rolled a 10. For many routine tasks, taking 10 makes them automatically successful. Distractions or threats (such as combat) make it impossible for a character to take 10. In most cases, taking 10 is purely a safety measure—you know (or expect) that an average roll will succeed but fear that a poor roll might fail, so you elect to settle for the average roll (a 10). Taking 10 is especially useful in situations where a particularly high roll wouldn't help.

Since I'm not distracted I should be able to Take 10?

AoO or not you are still in combat. There are still "stress or distractions". So no.

Its "or" not "and". Since I'm not distracted I should be able to Take 10? Am I interpreting this correctly?

NOT (A OR B)
A = TRUE
B = FALSE

NOT (TRUE OR FALSE)

NOT (TRUE)

FALSE

Nevermind...dam you boolean logic.

You're not drawing an attack of opportunity, but that doesn't mean that the gnoll trying to bash you in the head with its mace isn't an immediate danger or a distraction.

Provoking has nothing to do with stress or distraction. There is an ability which specifically does this. It's a rogue trick called skill mastery, that's the wording used for being allowed to take 10 in combat.

You're correct...I did the boolean logic with my previous edit.

No worries. The Take 10 rules are very contentious, but the rule of thumb is "not in combat". Still with a high enough bonus vs those static DCs you should be able to pass on a 1 quickly enough.

Once again, why don't you just use the spell Rebuke Death or Stabilize?
You have the Healing domain, both Rebuke Death and Stabilize are Conjuration (healing) spells. Stabilize is a 0 level spell and has range and you should have plenty of Rebuke Death spells.
